On November 28, 2017, we purchased a Sealy sectional sofa and ottoman from Furniture House Galleries, 9160 Mathis Ave, Manassas, VA 20110.
First, when we received the sofa, there were multiple manufacturing defects. All of which were photographed. We were also informed that the ottoman wasnât available yet. We later learned that the ottoman was available but that the ottoman legs couldnât be located, which is why it couldnât be delivered. When we tried to contact the store, many times there would be no answer, but when we finally got in touch with someone we communicated our concerns and we were told that someone would be in touch with us. About a week went by with no response so we sent an email with the documented photos to follow up. On January 29, 2018, we were finally notified that a replacement sofa had been ordered.
Second, when the replacement sofa arrived, there were still some manufacturing defects present. The delivery service also damaged our house in multiple places which were also documented with photos. We then contacted the store about the damage to our house as well as the remaining issues with the sofa. We sent photos of the damage via text message and asked multiple times for someone to come to our house to assess the damage as well as to view the still present sofa defects.
Lastly, on July 8, 2018, we discovered new issues with the sofa. In multiple places, the fabric has started to tear, of which one location has torn completely. The manufacturer also told us that this was a defect and told us we should receive a full refund but they werenât able to get in touch with the store in order to work anything out.
Additionally, the owner of the store yelled at my husband on the phone and then hung up on him! The store employees were so embarrassed that they gave our kids $20 to buy ice cream and suggested that we bring him to small claims court.
So after 14 phone calls, 19 text messages, 8 emails, multiple hours spent in the store, and over 1 and a half years of trying to get this handled, we still have the defective couch with fabric that is continuing to tear and no hope of a refund or any sort of effort to rectify the situation...

I called the place to get help with the defective sofas, and they did not answer my calls. I finally get a hold of them and they tell me to email them the problems. I sent them the pictures and they keep claiming the defects on the sofa is supposed to be part of the sofa! UNBELIEVABLE! They also say they do not offer returns or refunds after you purchase their items, which is a big scam. The manager is a really rude person over the phone and he never thinks he is wrong, if you have a problem with the furniture you buy from the place, he will have an attitude towards you.
