The Omelette Cafe - Manassas — Restaurant in Manassas

My husband and I typically love this place and come here often. They usually have great food even though the service can be lacking sometimes. On Saturday 10/31, we went for a late brunch/lunch. My husband ordered an omelette with home fries, bagel, bacon, and coffee. I ordered an appetizer of mozzarella sticks with marinara sauce, a plain medium well cheeseburger with fries, and a coke. My coke was a little flat but I wasn't going to complain about something trivial. We were expecting to get the appetizer before the main meals but it came out with the meals. When the food was about to come out, our waiter said that they were out of fries and were going to give me onion rings. My husband told him that I hate onion rings, and then waiter offered home fries instead multiple times. I told him that I am very particular with what I eat and will not eat either of those options. If I had known that there were no fries (which I should have been told at the time of order), then I would have picked a different dish. The mozzarella stick appetizer came out with a side of ranch. We asked for the marinara sauce. The waiter came back to say that there was no marinara sauce. Who eats mozzarella sticks with ranch?! I would have not ordered the appetizer had I know this. But anyway, I had my burger to eat, which I put on mayo and ketchup. I bit into my burger and it was bloody red inside. So I cut it down the middle and the whole burger was red. We brought this to the attention on our waiter, and I told him that I ordered this medium well. My husband had already eaten most of his meal when my burger was brought back out to me. I noticed some red on the outside of my burger, and it was ketchup. When I took the bun off of my burger, it was the same burger patty (already cut up) with the cheese, mayo, and ketchup (but a different bun), and the cook had just recooked it on the griddle (confirmed by the waiter when we asked him). I am quite sure this is against health code and is a violation since I had already bitten into it. I was not going to eat this burger. My whole meal had been ruined. We brought this to the attention of our waiter b/c we didn't want to pay for my portion of the meal that had been ruined. Our waiter was sympathetic and said that he had to talk to the manager about getting food comped. All of a sudden, we heard a very loud heated conversation in Spanish in the back with lots of yelling from the female manager. Our waiter came back and regretfully said that only a portion of the meal would be refunded. The manager never came to speak to us about what happened or tried to rectify the situation. It was a horrible experience. It took 20 min to get our breakfast after waiting 15 min to get the menu. When we got them, we asked for napkins and butter for the bread. The male waiter told us NO because the bread has it already. Napkins never got any. Asked for refills our coffee never happened either. We had to ask another woman to tell our waiter to give us more coffee. She did in a very bad face and mood. The worst came later. The same woman. -that said to us was the owner- asked us to leave because it was a lot of people waiting for the table and we were there already 2 hours. I said NO we were there only ONE hour and we were still drinking our coffee (we were 2 persons) we are from Texas living in this area. I was very upsetting situation because it’s a small place our table was just at the entrance and people at the door and tables closed to ours heard all the conversations. Not enough with that she put the menu for another group who was at the door waiting. We didn’t move. What was really very upsetting was there were other 5 tables like ours. Finish breakfast waiting for the bill to come pay and leave. But they were black and white people. We believe that was the issue for this woman. She heard us speaking Spanish and she showed she is a racist person. She wouldn’t dare to asked the other clientele to leave the rude way she told us to do it. We are 2 senior ladies one blue eyes, blond hair and me a Latin woman who both speak Spanish. The “owner” is a latina I can tell for her olmeca aparience. When we finally were leaving I stop her at the door and I told her that she was very rude to treated us like that that she was a racist and all what I just said. And that we were there only an hour. Anyway, sorry to say that you get mistreated for people that supposed to provide a good customer service specially in the food business. Never go back there. And the food was not good...

Terrible service, I ordered for my office, ( 55$ order ) , they brung bagels with cream cheese when I asked for butter, the bagels come as part of an omelette meal, I called and told them and said to just bring another one out to me next time the driver goes out, they did not of course , 20 minutes before they closed I started trying to call back , they did not pick up not once, so they blew me off all together, the next morning I call and ask for a manager where I was told he was too busy and hung up on, this morning I call ask for a manager again and a lady says why what happened, I start trying to explain, she talks over me saying I could go pick up a new bagel, so their mistake but I could go to their place and get a new one. she was rude about it, acted as If I was bothering her, I told her I was not going to come pick up a bagel but I was going to go online and let other customers know how she treats the customers, she said go ahead... she didn't care at all, I took this long to write the review because I have been ordering from there for years even from previous owners, and the guy who delivers to us often I believe is an owner is a really nice guy and I wouldn't want to affect him personally but , if he is the good person I think he is I am sure he would want to be made aware of this .
