Came here for locals for a couple of years and the staff never seemed to want us there. That's not a big deal on it's own, but they also didn't report OTS for 6 months while claiming that the issue was relating to shipping (which they were never told that by Konami) edit based on responses from DMC: Really don't want to pile it on at this point, I'm not upset personally. I don't care about getting my OTS packs, you can split them between the kids that go if you can actually manage to get them. I provided direct feedback that was blunt but reasonable (screen shot attached.) They deleted my first comment, and refusing to have an open and honest dialogue about how the players feel is a non-starter for me. So I called them clowns because I think it's extremely clownish to delete comments with no explanation, especially when it was nothing but facts without anything being rude. I apologize for calling them clowns, though. It's unnecessarily rude and distracts from what's really important here.

My son had some cards that he thought were worth a lot of money. We stopped by on a Saturday afternoon and they were busy, but the counter guy took his time and explained that my son's cards were counterfeits and showed us how to tell the difference. The store and game room are much bigger at the new location. Update 12 Nov 2023 - This store continues to amaze me. We learned they have Pokemon Games Sunday afternoon so we visited to learn how to play. No one else showed up the first week, but the second week we connected with another family. One of the staff was teaching the other kid how to play. Both boys received some more gifts (cards/dice) from the staff. To top it off, a patron purchased some items for the other child that had arrived before us. So not only is the staff top notch apparently the customers are as well.

This comic shop is one of the best I have been to. It not only sells comics, but also cards like Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh, and other card games in Japanese and in English; they also sell manga models, figures, posters, games, toys, and snacks, some from different countries like Japan and Korea. They have good prices on their merchandise, and you can also sell stuff to them online or in person. They also have rooms where you can sit and play card games like Pokémon and others, but you're not allowed to have unpaid merchandise in there. The workers are very nice, and when it's open, it's open Good Times. But the decor is amazing, especially in the rooms, and they have their own cars with special media on them. It's a good comic shop to visit. I recommend you go there too.

Warning very long,

Updated in response below.

Even longer ——— It is clear that the employees has a negative bias against certain groups but they tolerate them only for the sales. Went to an event that was hosted here, there was a misunderstanding on how many rounds would be played, at first it was announced that 4 rounds would be played and was changed to 5. At the end of round 4, there was an undefeated in which I went looking up tournament rules, explained to the employees, “I don’t want to be disrespectful or argue but if you are going by the tournament rules,” I was stopped and told that we must and will play an additional round and that I was behaving as if they had stabbed my puppy. A comment that shook me from 0-100, leaving me quite upset I went to the game room and play my last round, where another employee choose to stop tournament play In order to gaslight me and throw her authority by telling me I had to look at her in order to listen to what she was saying. I returned today to give support to friends and I was asked to leave and not come back due to the way I spoke to their employees during that event. ———- Response from store:

If by certain groups you mean those who are constantly disrespectful, rude and argumentative to our staff, then yes, we don't put up with that garbage. My response:

I find that quite hypocritical; as *some of your staff is constantly disrespectful, rude, and argumentative. I don’t recall being disrespectful before your staff became gaslighting, “puppy stabbing,”attention needing, and authority throwing themselves to someone who tried to resolve things in a calm manner. In fact I left through the side door in order to de-escalate, only to be banned the week after.

But I mean let’s put this into a perspective whole, because it seems like the staff enjoys to use actions of certain people and blanket them to a group.

The store also gets overwhelmed unable to run events smoothly especially on weekends due to high volume of people store and in the event, also trying to make purchases, staff trying to assist people and staff that like to toot their own horn. Players have basically run the events themselves to try to leave on a timely manner, even the timer doesn’t help as they have to ask employees to start another round.

If recall correctly the store was in bad standing with the Yu-Gi-Oh! Players due to the fact you were not receiving and supporting their players due to misinformation and incompetence because your store was not reporting tournament result, and the majority of the player owed were not compensated on your stores “IOUs” and that record got wiped, hence forth you wiped your hands mainly of your “problematic players” because they were “constantly disrespectful, rude and argumentative to our staff”

jack up all of your prices to justify highway robbery “due to scalpers”

Im sure a lot of dirt can be dug and your skeleton closet isn’t closed as tightly as you all want to believe.

I was taught you give respect and receive it, dont do what you wouldn’t want to do to others. I would want to say unfortunately, but fortune has it I was disrespected here more times than i was able to return it.

P.S there are people who have store credit who would back up my accusations if they weren’t in fear of...

Why introduce a point system when your staff REFUSES to add the points in? I even asked to make sure the points get added in and he didn’t even add them. This was last night 4/6. But this isn’t the first, second or third time you guys don’t add the points, it’s happened dozens of times. I believe it is to save money instead of honoring $10 off. I haven’t been here in months but decided to stop in last night, huge mistake. After about a half hour of shopping around, the kid working asked me if I knew how long I had been in there also saying “you’ve been here a while” WOW. Is there a time limit to shop? I had a stack of books I was buying. It’s a comic book store, you look around. The kicker is after I paid I asked him to bag my comics for me. HE TOSSED A BAG AT ME AND SAID “HERE YOU GO”. I couldn’t believe it. You work with the public so maybe you guys should hire people who are friendly. I am 99% sure I’m not coming back anyways and I’m not sure why I’m even writing this because one of the owners have acted this way also, the one with glasses. I miss Brett. He was awesome. If Brett opens his own shop I’ll be there every week but this company sucks now. I used to come here twice a week and spend lots of money. I remember when you guys were closed on Mondays. I always support the local shops but you guys are trash now. Can’t wait for you to go out of business which hurts me to say but We need a newer better comic book store with friendlier staff, not people who can’t do their job correctly in the customer service industry. And I’ve seen all your replies to other reviews and it seems like your you refuse to take responsibility for...

I've waited a week to post this review to make sure I wanted to do it. I called a couple of times attempting to pre-order a Magic: the Gathering item. The first person I reached wasn't sure if I could and told me to call back or email. That was fine. I emailed and got no reply, so I called again. The second person told me I had to call back specifically on Tuesdays to reach Tony, who handles the Magic stuff. Totally fine. Called on a Tuesday and got Tony, who had seen my email but chosen not to respond to it. He told me that they weren't offering pre-orders on that particular item, which I found understandable given its limited quantities. I asked if there was a way I could find out when it would be available, and he pointed me to their Facebook page. I apologized, as I don't have Facebook and can't join a private group to see announcements, and asked if it would be obnoxious if I called each day to see if it had come in once the street date passed. He said, and I quote, "Yes," and then hung up on me as I was saying goodbye. I gave it two days and went into the store on Thursday. Turned out Tony was working that day, too, and I brought up the interaction. He proceeded to speak over me as I tried to talk to him, so I used up my store credit (I'd purchased a Modern Horizons II Collector Booster Box a couple of weeks beforehand) and informed him that I will never spend another dollar there and will advise anyone I talk to about local games stores to...
