EDIT:
Had to respond to the nonsense:
First of all, singularly reviewing camera footage to determine if someone was rude is insane. Was there audio as well that picked up the conversation over the music and other patrons?? Nice try. Nobody ordered brown stew fish. It was NOT soon after we ordered our food did we express our urgency, it was almost an hour of waiting before we got the attention of the server to let her know we needed to leave very soon. After that, we asked again and she said there were two orders ahead of ours and that they were just starting to work on ours…it was at THAT point we told her to CANCEL the order. THEN the chef came out and basically BULLIED us into staying for food that was MEDIODRE AT BEST.
The person who expressed she wanted to try her food did, and yes she WAS excited about the meal UNTIL she tasted it and said it tasted VERY Salty, this was after the server left the table, and because we were in a rush, all we could do was LOOK at the escoveitch fish so no tasting occurred until we left the restaurant hence this review. What I find so distasteful (more than the food) is the fact that the only response warranted in your response to my review was your paragraph starting with "we regret that we did not meet your expectations…" everything else almost confirms the combative nature my party had to deal with during our visit. Like I said, the tacos were the only thing that was tasty But they were EXTREMELY HOT and I LOVE very spicy food (Don't let me get started on the drinks…I was being generous with this review by leaving that out). Like I said in my original review…I WILL NEVER step foot back in this establishment. I hope that sweet server finds a better establishment to work for. All the other lower ratings are literally ECHOING everything I've mentioned. Just do better.
ORIGINAL REVIEW:
Came in around 5:10pm before a 6:30pm show about 5 minutes away. Our waitress was friendly, sweet and very accommodating. After placing our orders we waited approximately 50 minutes before having to call her over and finally ask how long until our food was ready, she mentioned it was all made to order and that there were two orders ahead of us, she said it would be an additional TWENTY MINUTES. We then said, we'd have to cancel the orders because we were going to be late to our show. A minute later another woman, I'm assuming the chef, walked up to our table with somewhat of an attitude explaining to us that the food was made to order, we said yes we understand and that the waitress just told us that information. She then tells us she'd have the good ready for us to take... (Insert disbelief). We RELUCTANTLY agreed...(Not that she have us much choice). The food came out right at 6:30pm all wrapped up. We then received the bill which had a $36 gratuity added!!!!!!!! I couldn't believe it! When we got to our show and opened up the food... WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT! The scoveitch fish was BARELY SEASONED AND SEEMED A LITTLE UNDERCOOKED. She clearly rushed so she could slap us with that bill. The music was 90s RnB on a dreary saturday afternoon, I was hoping for some upbeat reggae, soca...SOMETHING! I gave 1 star because the jerk salmon tacos were THE BOMB, only down was the spice level blew my wig off! I am very used to spice being a Jamaican married to a Nigerian, but this was different. Anyway, overall I really wished we just left when we did and saved the money and the disappointing experience. One of the people who accompanied me also wrote a review on this restaurant about this same experience or group had, and I will admit I was even MORE disappointed that instead of trying to hear what the issues were, the chef tried to make it seem like we were the problem... Never returning to this establishment. I'm all for supporting my people but...
Read moreUpdate to my review: Strange you mention the music is not from your establishment and “to do my research” a quick instagram and Facebook search has you posting “today’s vibe” with a large outdoor area promoting a DJ. Weird!
I’ll be honest — I’ve never even set foot in this establishment. So why the one star? Because I’m just a girl, standing in her living room a mile away, begging a bar to turn down the bass.
Every weekend, the music blasts so loudly my windows rattle like it’s a dubstep earthquake. It’s not just me — behind this bar is a whole neighborhood of families, kids, and people who remember what peace and quiet used to sound like. The domino effect happens every weekend, loud music, the neighbors children can’t fall asleep, every weekend is a symphony of loud music and crying babies. Will it ever end?
To be clear, I’m thrilled people are having fun. But maybe, just maybe, your party shouldn’t shake the foundations of homes that didn’t RSVP.
Please consider turning it down a few notches. Or answer the phone so I don’t have to resort to a google review. Or at least take song requests from the people you’re involuntarily DJing for. (Sabrina Carpenter, Whitney Houston, or T-Swift?)
Signed a girl who just wants to read a book outside with some peace and quiet in a home she will be in debt with for the...
Read moreWaited for 2 hours for our food. Wings & Grits, and a Chicken Salad. Never got it. We noticed others who arrived after us getting their food and mentioned it to the bartender, she said she pushed for those plates to come out before ours for some unexplained reason. A friend joined us about one and a half hours after we arrived. He sat down ordered food and it somehow got delivered before ours. All we got were more excuses. At some point they brought out wings and we convinced the unaware food walker to leave them with us, pretty sure they weren't ours. We cancelled our food order. They never offered us anything for our negative experience. The drinks are served in tiny cups and are overpriced. They have a giant tube of rum punch with a spigot to share, that sounded like a good deal. 4 drinks and an order of wings cost over $60. The atmosphere and music were great, loud but that's the vibe they were going for. Don't expect to have a conversation without yelling. Everyone around us were complaining about the food taking too long. If you enjoy the club scene you'll enjoy brunch here. Cannot...
