It was my birthday and I was craving seafood. I searched on the web found this place not far from us. The place is huge at first sight. It seems almost like a children’s arcade with a big clown cow and some cut outs for kids to propose. We get there on a Wednesday at 5 o’clock. We had made reservations, but they weren’t necessary since the place was early occupied. For drinks, I got a large beer and my wife ordered a Pinot Noir. Unfortunately her wine was off tasting, but this server was quite willing to switch it for a vodka tonic, which was very good. We had fried calamari for an appetizer. Calimari came with an orange sauce almost like thousand island dressing. It was tasty and fresh though. I had a half a dozen oysters, which were very good. For utensils we were just given a fork. I also received a Nutcracker since I was having shellfish. Interestingly, we weren’t not given knives nor did we receive any plates to serve our appetizers on. There is no salt or pepper or hot sauce available on the table. My wife had fried shrimp which were huge and very tasty. The fries that came with it were very good. I got the B boil, which was a half a pound of shrimp, a half a pound of crawfish, and half a pound of crab legs. It also came with two potatoes, an egg and corn. It was a little messy, emptying the bag onto the plate, but luckily they gave us two plastic gloves. I got the boil served medium spicy, but it could’ve used some salt. The crawfish was a little on the plain side and could’ve used some hot sauce. The shrimp without the heads were good. The crab legs were also good too. I think we’ll come back again and bring...
Read moreI am so disappointed with this place. I come here often with my family and order the same exact thing. Last night was an experience that still has me in shock. I ordered (1) mild and (1) medium bag. Both bags came out looking the same exact way (very dark colored) when I went to taste my food it was extremely spicy, to the point my lips and tongue were tingling, it was so spicy that I couldn’t enjoy my food as I usually do there. Secondly the shrimp were completely disgusting and filled with poop. I called the waitress over to show her and she offered to remake the shrimp and bag considering the spiciness and dirty shrimp. Before taking the bags she said that they will remake it but we’d get the same amount of food that was in the bag, we asked if they would be remaking all together and she said yes, less than 10 minutes later she comes back with the (2) bags that were clearly the same exact crab legs she took from our table. They literally washed the seasoning off and poured sauce on top. The problem with this is 1. Definitely unsanitary to be taking crab legs someone started eating and put them back in a pot to be reheated. 2 the seasoning will not stick to washed off crab legs like they would for seafood that’s actually cooked in the seasonings and spice level you asked for. This honestly has me questioning the integrity of this establishment. For all I know you could be serving up leftover crab legs off of another customer’s plate. So...
Read moreI had a seafood boil..1/2lb snow crab, shrimp w/o the heads, a lobster tail.. bag had 2 whole potatoes, 1 boiled egg and a corn niblet..prepandemic I would eat a boil 1-3Xs a week (quite expensive) and then I started making my own..I will say the price was reasonable here, the shrimp large and the seafood seems really fresh, plump and healthy..my issue is the flavor and I know everyone's taste buds are not the same, I had the house blend and it was too salty, drowned the taste of the food and not "seasoned" just salty..this place is not as bad as Chosen One but not as good as Hungry Crab...I ate the whole boil but will not revisit
Update: I revisited a couple of weeks ago in May, still very good quality seafood, still don't like the flavor at all. Tastes just salty to me even though I tried a different flavor got the boil. Taste is subjective and people seem to like this place so I give an A for effort for me. I'll continue to spend up to $200 weekly elsewhere.
Update:3rd try, been craving a boil after eating Cajun Boil in NH and didn't feel like making my own. This time I got the most basic flavor and decided to add to it if need be and Yes, garlic butter was perfect! Problem was the crab tasted chemically SMH, I swear it was because they were about to close for the night, iDK, the lobster tail was fine...there may be a 4th try on a desperate day but take this...
