This is a good store with an excellent staff and nice owner (Carl). I go to this store every other weekend and it is like going back in a time machine. Carl and his team are gracious and nice. The minor drawbacks are that the store would benefit from more reissues that are remastered or expanded. The carrying cost would of course be more yet I think it would endear the die-hards (like me) that spend literally between 150 and up every two weeks. Also missing some great classics for example Duke Ellington at Newport is a must carry; Eric Clapton's Slowhand is a must carry; Frank Sinatra on blue vinyl (Ultimate Sinatra) and of course Charlie Parker all are must carries. Yet these albums are not in stock. So more of the classics in reissued and expanded formats AND/OR at the very least original pressing stocked would be my small suggestions (if the albums are in most TOP 500 albums list, to me, should be in stock). Yet, what Toon Town lacks in inventory it makes up for in personality and being in a room with other music lovers - everyone is just geeking out - and parents bringing in their young kids makes for a fun experience. Even my wife now enjoys our Saturday outings to this wonderful store with lots of...
Read moreI LOVE Tune Town! They always have a great selection of audio & video; some new, more than you can choose from that are used--but in my experience always work perfectly. I buy CDs & DVDs & Blu-rays. They have a wonderful collection of vinyl--new & used. They also set boxes of older vinyl in front of the store during store hours that are free every once in a while. The staff have always been really helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. They have different deals where you buy so many and get one free. I can never remember the exact details. The only negative thing is I always find too many things I want & end up spending more than I intended lol. But I don't care because I always get a great deal & walk...
Read moreawesome shop. i live in texas working in mankato and decided to give this shop a try and instantly grew a soft spot for it. underestimated their selection in music, they have a wide variety of genres. the store itself is quite large, they have a basement of more music and dvds. the vast majority of their items are very reasonably priced. for RSD the employees were incredibly kind, they had refreshments and cookies for the customers and when it started pouring rain, they let us inside even before their opening hours to avoid getting rained on and even let us shop around while we waited for the rain to go away (except for rsd items). definitely looking forward to stop by more often on my days off to...
