Update: 4:08pm Alexa called. Service canceled. Rep reported. The only peace of mind I have is not having the service. I hope this never happens to another soul. I hope new practices and policies go into play.
It has been two days since 8/11/21, the day I found out my service was not "downgraded" -- like I asked-- but instead, it was canceled by "mistake." Huge mistake for a service provider. On 8/11/21, I tried to return the equipment after my boyfriend spent his time on the phone with Charter Spectrum from 3 pm- 8 pm.
The result of that very long-winded conversation was my account closed on "good terms." They tricked him into creating his account. I told him everything, plus the install would be around $250. Well, yesterday, the projected bill came to $300 and something (view pictures). He was so angry that they lied AGAIN, he decided to cancel everything.
Today I returned my equipment to a store location that had informed my boyfriend they do not do returns (view pictures). The reason I went back to that store location: 95 Storrs Rd, Willimantic, CT 06226. The cashier was "SN7" she moved too quickly for me to catch her name tag. Now on 8/11/21, my boyfriend entered the store location to return my equipment as they were sending him his new equipment. The same lady who lied to him but ended up doing my return anyways was there. She lied about what she told my boyfriend to save face. I did get my equipment returned but only after jumping through many, many hoops.
I even went as far as emailing Alexa Mayo (view pictures), who called me on 8/12. When I went to return her call, she didn't answer. Since then, I have left her voicemail, and she has not called me back. Her office hours mentioned were M-F, 8:30-5 pm. It's now 3:13 pm, and still no callback.
Suppose you want to trust your hard-earned work money to a provider that gives you the hassle. Lies. Steals and manipulate, then Spectrum is just right for you!
I have updated my Yelp and google reviews and will do so once a year every year so that people could know not to choose this provider. No one rectified the original issue, and each Charter Spectrum representative I worked with...
Read moreSpectrum sent me equipment I didn't ask for. When I asked them to get FedEx to pick it back up, I was told I had to return it to the store. The man there gave me a written receipt, saying he could not remove it from my account, and take off the $5 monthly rental. I called the company right there and when the lady asked to speak to him, he got angry and said there were other customers (there were not) and that I jumped the line (I had made an appointment.) When she tried to talk him through it he kept interrupting her. She finally asked for the manager. The manager did not want to talk to her but did. After the phone lady talked with her the manager entered it in the computer. The lady on the phone by this time had gotten HER manager and they said they would wait on the phone as long as it took. The two in the store kept spitting retorts and having an attitude. The phone lady said it had gone through there, to look it up again, which they argued about, then they did. Simple fix, should not have been a big deal, no one else was in the store. During this whole thing I said NOT ONE WORD. You can't argue with people who don't want to do the job or treat customers well. I thanked the phone lady and the store people, did a military pivot...
Read moreI had an incredibly frustrating experience with Spectrum Internet. Despite their promises, the service was consistently unreliable, with frequent outages and painfully slow speeds that made it impossible to get anything done.
To make matters worse, their customer service is absolutely terrible. Every time I called to report an issue, I was met with long wait times, unhelpful representatives, and a complete lack of urgency to resolve my problems. It felt like nobody there cared about their customers' concerns.
When I finally had enough and decided to cancel the service, I was shocked to learn that they wouldn't provide any refund for the remaining period of my contract. They only offered a credit if I stayed with their service, which was the last thing I wanted to do after such a poor experience. It's clear to me that Spectrum prioritizes profit over customer satisfaction.
Unfortunately, I cannot recommend Spectrum Internet to anyone. Their subpar service, coupled with atrocious customer support, makes them a company to avoid...
