Do not go here.
I went in to pick up an order that my wife had phoned in. I gave her name and phone number. The gentleman asked me what was in the order. I could only shrug - she usually adds something - and replied, "some soup?" He said "What else?" I replied that I did not know.
He went behind the counter and a woman came forward. She asked, "what was in the order?" I said some won ton soup. She followed up with "what else?" The gentleman suggested that I should call her and get all the information. At this point I was sufficiently frustrated to leave and suggest putting an order in at another restaurant.
Retreating to my car, I called my wife; she texted me that she had ordered two large wonton soups and a crab rangoon. She also mentioned that it had been pre-paid over the phone, so we were now stuck with China East.
My second and third visits were identical. "What did you order?" "Two large wonton soups and an order of crab rangoon." "What else?" "That's it." "OK. What else?" Both times I walked out, finally, in frustration.
At this point I remembered my previous visit, two years earlier, when nearly the same drama had played out. I could see my food in a neatly stapled bag on the counter while they quizzed me on details of an order I had not placed myself. At this point I was considering calling the credit card company to report the transaction as fraudulent.
Interrupting my wife again, she went through the order again. This time she mentioned that she had requested a side of mustard. "That must be it!" I exclaimed, and went back into China East. The dialog was repeated. "Two large wonton soups and an order of crab rangoon. That's it. The only other item was a side of mustard." "What else?" "Nothing else." This time there was some shouting in the kitchen among the staff, and eventually they brought the food...
Read moreI am giving ZERO stars to this place, in order to post this review, I have to give at least 1 star within this format. Initially I ordered 3 combos to go and they tried to charge me for 4. The staff in general looked like they were angry for me to even be there, but the girl who took the order was especially rude. They blocked off the entrance so you have to order from outside the front door over a large table and they all kept a distance like I had the plague...the pandemic is over. Now on to the food itself. I ordered the Beef Ho Fun which is the wide flat rice noodle, which has been a favorite of mine over the years. When it's prepared properly it's truly a tasty meal. Well, when I opened the container, it looked bad right from the start. I took my fork to jab a noodle, but when I did it was hard as a rock. I pushed the fork deep into the plastic container and withdrew one huge gelatinous clump of Ho Fun noodles that weren't even cooked. How on earth they plated that food to serve is beyond comprehension, they must have no pride at all. Further more, the beef seemed rancid and the veggies were few and far between not to mention they were far from fresh. The other combos were for two teenage boys that will eat anything put before them. The beef and broccoli and the orange chicken meals were discarded and barely eaten. They immediately had the same response that I had, pure disgust. Please stay away from this place, I should have stayed with my go-to place, Lee's Stir Fry in Columbia, but since I was at the Big Y in Mansfield, I decided to give China East a try. I truly...

The girl who answered my call was very nice and they speak good English. They never get my order wrong and the veggies are crispy and fresh. The whole or half fried chicken is really good especially with the plantain fried "Tostones" they will give you extra smashed up garlic for them if you ask..it's delicious! Also like the new size of the eggroll in there combo meals there smaller and not a speck of grease on them, I loved that a lot! The Shrimp an Chinese vegetables is lite and very good, the shrimps were nice and juicy and large! Yeah I've been going there for years..wish they would put fresh whole fried fish on the menu though especially good in summer there isn't one restaurant in this area that has that on the menu! I think it would sell really well especially if it was seasoned well with a side off fresh cut fries and a Chinese slaw! I...
