I've lived here four years and things have gone down hill each year. The rent keeps going up. Every time your lease renewal comes up, expect to pay at least $60/month more and not see any community improvements come from it. (Although the front office and club house got an amazing facelift.) The trash fees are ridiculous. I am one person living in a 1/1 and I pay $46/month ($35 for mandatory valet trash (was $25 when I moved in) plus mandatory $11 for "trash" and "trash fees.") We used to have a jacuzzi but it was filled in. There are little, if no, resident events. When I first moved in, they were near monthly. Now, I think we've had two in the past two years. Management changed in October 2018 but there was no head's up until we received notices on Sept. 28th or 29th that our rent had to be paid in person because the online system was down since it was being changed to new management's portal. I have repeatedly had problems with my dishwasher not draining properly, and maintenance has come by each time to "unclog it". Yet the next time I use the dishwasher, it doesn't drain. I pre-wash my dishes before running a load, so I don't know what could be clogging it. A previous poster mentioned drug deals on property. That is absolutely true. I was out reading by the turtle pond one day and a young man approached me asking if I was looking to buy "green" (pot). (I said no.) I've encountered people parked in their cars, getting high, usually in the late afternoon/evenings. Also, parking is an issue (especially if you are looking for a spot past 8pm), so people will just make up their own spots. Covered parking spots are decent sizes, but beware if you are getting a garage. I used to drive a Nissan Xterra and it barely fit, with room to open the driver and passenger doors. I would hug the right side of the garage to get my door to open completely. This doesn't bother me, but there's a train track maybe two miles from here and you can hear the train every time it blares its horn, which happens at all hours of the day (including 3am.) I also live on the third floor, but can hear the garage below my unit opening/closing.. I can only imagine what the person on the second floor experiences.
My side of the complex is pretty quiet, it seems to be mostly working professionals, retirees and some families here. Maintenance and the front office attempt to address my concerns in a timely manner (usually within two days), I've always had friendly interactions with the ever-changing staff, and you are really close to shopping...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf you are thinking of living here, I urge you take your hard earned money elsewhere. Trash. Everywhere. All the time. It's sad enough that they charge you 35$ a month for a non-optional VALET trash service fee. What's worse, is that the service is never performed. Rarely, if at all. I have tested this many times, by leaving the trash outside my door in the designated spot at the designated times. That trash will sit there for 4-5 days, and kids and animals start getting into it and making a mess. The only reason it makes it to the compactor at all is because I get sick of looking at it or it smells so badly that I give up and take it myself. The staff is extremely unprofessional and hardly qualified or adept enough to perform their responsibilities. The gates malfunction on a regular basis. The parking is a joke. Want to find an unmarked spot near your apartment? Good luck finding something on your side of the complex. If you want a covered spot, it'll cost you an additional 20$ a month, and you'll be lucky if they assign you one near your building. Unless they assign you someone else's space, which is what happened to me. I'm sure you can imagine how that played out. It's a miracle no one was towed. The apartments themselves are very small, overpriced, and never properly cleaned or ready for move-in. I had to walk-through my apartment on 3 separate occasions before they had gotten it right and I was willing to approve it. The only reason I signed the lease was for the location. If you're like me and hate to commute very far to work, trust me when I say traffic wouldn't be any worse than living here. Living here and dealing with this staff has been by far the worst rental experience of my entire life. There are no exaggerations here, only a sincere attempt to prevent anyone else the trouble of renting at Towne Crossing Apartments. Do not give these people your business, because they plain just don't deserve it and fail to live up to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI donāt understand why we pay so much for valet trash services when the dumpster is literally overflowing every day of the week. The trash spills out which makes it hazardous and unsanitary. There a few problems I have with these apartments, even though there are some good things as well. However, the lack of interest in solving the trash problem is really getting under my skin. We have been here for 3 years, and it has never been resolved. Why donāt the apartments invest in another dumpster at the other side of the complex?! Thereās plenty of space, it would minimize the overflow problem, and it would finally justify the ridiculous fee you charge us every month for trash āservices.ā Oh and don't ever walk on ANY grass areas because you are bound to step on dog feces. I have literally seen people walk around with their dogs and NEVER pick up after them. I have offered them "poopie bags" in an effort to be friendly and remind them of their RESPONSIBILITIES, but most pretend that they don't need it, and honestly, it is not my job to do this. The office staff need to actually start fining people and sending warnings in an attempt to stop this. There have been so many changes in the office and in management, that I'm not sure who they are or if they can be trusted at this point. The staff is always courteous, and maintenance is quick, but it's not enough when there are so many fundamental issues with the apartment complex. They are not cheap, and yet they feel like the cheap apartments you don't really want to live at. Neighbors are loud, and kids constantly play in the breezeways, which is disturbing and annoying as well. I am also pretty sure that there are at least 6 people living across from us in what looks like a 2-bedroom. (However, I am not sure if it's a 2-bed...) Anyway, the point is that there are more cons than pros and we just aren't sure if we want to renew our lease for another...
