We came here for the first time for Father's Day.. we normally go to Nagoya in central Arlington but we're a bit crunched on time and needed something a bit closer. We were so grateful that we opted to try Sake Hibachi today! First of all, the gentleman doing the hibachi grill was fantastic; he really made it a much more interactive experience than what we've experienced at other hibachi restaurants. My daughter was in awe of everything and also thought the food was delicious. She is 5 and sometimes it can be hard to find restaurants that are not only something is adults would love but also something that my little one's will devour. Speaking of food, the entire meal was like a party for my taste buds. The starters we got were wonderful.. We ordered the Crab Puff (my daughter's favorite food is Crab Rangoon and this was a yummy take on those). We also thoroughly enjoyed the soup and salad that came out prior to the hibachi meal (I think I could switch to eating salad daily if I had unlimited access to their salad dressing.. it's the best I've had at any restaurant). Finally onto the main entrees.. we had 4 in our party and so we had a large selection of different proteins with our meals. I got the 'Ninja' plate which included steak, shrimp and chicken. The chicken was moist and flavorful, the steak was cooked perfectly and was tasty and the shrimp was the star because it's probably the best shrimp I've had at a restaurant in a long time. Normally at places I avoid shrimp (& especially at the other hibachi restaurant because normally seafood like shrimp, scallops and lobster ends oup tasting a bit fishy)... Not here.. it is was cooked perfectly and it wasn't even a little bit fishy which is hard to find anywhere these days in Texas. My daughter even devoured several of them and she normally does not like shrimp. The fried rice was perfection and accented all of the proteins so well. My father got lobster and said it was absolutely delicious also.. All in all, we really loved the experience eating here today for Father's Day. I've literally ran out of positive descriptive words because it was such a good experience. We will definitely be back. The only drawback to coming today is that we were still finishing up eating and had planned to get the tempura banana dessert and unfortunately one of the ladies (not our server so idk who she was exactly) started handing us to go boxes and dropped off our check. In all honesty, we hadn't had our proteins for more than maybe 10 minutes at the most and weren't eating very slow but they had a large group of people waiting at the front and the place was packed so I figure they were rushing us out to rush them in and it was really the only negative thing we experienced.. I believe that considering how much money we dropped in one meal for 3 adults and a child that we could at least have a few more minutes to order dessert and finish our food but the restaurant is pretty tiny and it seems to get pretty busy. So, in the future we will probably come eat during a less busy time because I felt like being rushed out was rather rude. The hibachi dinners are rather pricey too just as a heads up. We spent a little over $200 with the tip included and got 3 hibachi dinners, 1 appetizer, 1 sushi roll and a kids drink. Regardless of the lady towards the end rushing us out I genuinely found it to be a great dining experience and we will be back. Sorry for rambling so much with this review and I...
Read moreI took my family to dinner here Sunday night for my son's 18th Birthday dinner celebration. We have been here several times, but this time did it for me. We came in and it was 5 of us and they sat us at a small table with a family of 3 which was crowded because it wasn't your normal table for 2 families, but I was still fine. When we sat done, I noticed the man of the family had a look of distaste on his face like as if he didn't want my family sitting with them. So, after noticing his face and expressions and energy I got up and told the host that we would wait for another table and proceeded to tell her that I didn't feel comfortable there and that we would wait for another table. After saying that 3 times I went to sit on the waiting couch. One of the managers/owners came and said we would be seated with other people, and I informed her I was aware of that but I didn't feel comfortable at that table so we would wait for the next one. She kept repeating herself as if she didn't understand what I was saying, so I said ok and told my husband we can go somewhere else. I went outside and my husband followed to talk to me. I said that man had a problem because we are black. While we were outside talking the man proceeds to yell at my 16-year-old son and fuss at him. My husband went back inside to talk with the manager and another worker tells her no they shouldn't sit there because that man is yelling at her kids. My husband tells my kids to get up let's go and as they walk away the man says yea that's what I thought. The manager had no intentions of hearing or trying to understand us. I simply didn't want to sit there because I didn't feel comfortable, and we were there to celebrate my son's birthday and shouldn't have to sit there tense and uncomfortable. I was so upset by the experience and the fact that we spent 300+ dollars there that night, so I called the restaurant and asked to speak with owner not the lady that was there that night. The hostess said they wasn't available, and I asked for a call back and left my name and number and never received a call back. I will never openly let my kids experience racism, and the unprofessionalism we experienced that night. I teach my kids not to be rude or disrespectful to anyone and that is the reason they said absolutely nothing to the man, but yet the manager was worried about the rude couple so therefore I will be taking my family and my money elsewhere and will be letting others know about...
