Never been insulted so much by a “supervisor”. Walked in the front door and saw Sweet Cherries for $2.99. The tag clearly said this was for a 48 oz size— that is about $1 a pound. When I checked out, the price was $2.99 a pound. I asked the checkout clerk about that discrepancy— she said “you’re wrong, that’s not the price”. I went back and took a picture of the sign. Says clearly $2.99 for 48oz. Normally $7.99 down to $2.99… I brought the pic back and she she indicated that I must be stupid— I asked will y’all at least correct the sign… she said “I ain’t gotta do nothing” I asked to see a supervisor.. I showed the pic to the supervisor and she kinda said “You must be dumb if they’re selling cherries @ $1 a pound” I asked if she’d correct the sign. She called a produce clerk to “fix” the issue so it’s more clear. Actually they have it clear— a mistake—$2.99 for 48oz Cherries. I left the cherries with them, paid for my other items and left. As I was walking out she said “I’m sorry you misunderstood this”. I replied I didn’t misunderstand—

Let me start this review by saying that I like this Krogers. I think they run some good specials. You earn points to use on gas. The deli is good so why the 3 star score? The checkout is terrible. If you only had a small amount of grocieries then the self check out will probably be fine. If you have a buggy full then the self check out will probably give you trouble. When using it the machine quits and youll have to get an employee over to reset it. On one trip i had to get help 4 times. I was even trying to keep scanner clear when it happened. Usually they only have one cashier and a long line. ( I would gladly wait in line instead of dealing with self checkout.) I decided to update this review. My last couple of vists have been really good and I haven't had to deal with my previous complaints ( namely the self checkout) I decided to raise my 3 star to a 5 star. Hope Krogers keeps it up.

If I could leave negative stars I would. When I say never order a cake from here I mean that something bad has happened to the bakery at kroger. Ordered a cake for a coworkers baby shower went to pick cake up and it looked like a 5 year old made it looked nothing like what I ordered borders were not straight the cake was blank had to ask the lady to write welcome baby on it and she didn't even know how to spell welcome 🤷‍♀️

I recently visited Kroger, and I have never experienced anything remotely close to what happened during my checkout experience. What started as a simple question about a price turned into something out of a bizarre action movie.

The checkout assistant I encountered was, to put it mildly, extremely aggressive. When I queried a price, rather than providing clarification, she erupted into an unprovoked rage. Without warning, she began throwing my groceries at me. Shocked and trying to de-escalate the situation, I barely had time to react before she leapt over the counter!

In a completely unhinged turn of events, she physically restrained me in an arm lock—yes, you read that correctly—until I was forced to beg for mercy. To top it all off, she wouldn't let me go, screaming "who's the governor? Who's the governor?" to which I replied, "You are! You are!" before she finally released me.

This experience was not only humiliating but downright terrifying. A place where customers should feel safe and welcome has turned into a circus of aggression and absurdity.

I strongly urge Kroger to reconsider their hiring practices and take immediate steps to ensure this kind of behavior is never inflicted on another customer. Until then, I will certainly be taking my business elsewhere.

I gave 5 stars...

Why oh why can't we have a 0 star option? I went to KROGER IN MARTINSVILLE VIRGINIA to go grocery shopping this morning and I went through self check out, scanned the groceries selected to get cash back no problem there right? Well no cash came out I waited for a minute or two but nothing happened. I walked up front to get someone to help me. The woman at the front desk walked over to the machine with me. They were all talking and I felt like they didn't believe me. So an assistant came over to me and I asked them to check the cameras. They decided to check them it clearly showed when I walked up front to get help the money finally came out. So the manager Mohamed determined that another customer grabbed the money and swiftly left the store. I was advised by my husband to call the police. The Martinsville Virginia police department said they would go by and lol at the cameras. The police department told me to go home and they would call me. I called Kroger corporate they are also looking into it. Now I know $60.00 isn't a lot to some people but it's a lot to me being disabled on a...

I'm getting tired of the weekly shopping experience at Kroger. They rarely have sale items on the shelf. Again today I went to Kroger Martinsville for the great sale items, and a few other things. Today, peaches: huge display: empty. Multiple different versions of Kroger bratwurst: wasn't empty, until I bought the last one. This is a weekly experience. And then just as an insult, I was trying to purchase regular grits. The type that any self respecting southerner would eat. The only version on the shelf was quick grits. About 8 boxes wide on the shelf. Just to be resilient I asked the gentleman stocking shelves. He looked it up and he said the quick grits is the only kind that they have. And then I saw a loaf of "sourdough" bread. Just to check, because sourdough is the only kind my stomach can tolerate, I read the ingredients: nope, not really sourdough. This store, and Kroger in general is just sad! I just read the article about how they inflated prices way beyond the inflation rate, and got caught! Big business wants to get bigger and rip...
