I recently visited Kroger, and I have never experienced anything remotely close to what happened during my checkout experience. What started as a simple question about a price turned into something out of a bizarre action movie.
The checkout assistant I encountered was, to put it mildly, extremely aggressive. When I queried a price, rather than providing clarification, she erupted into an unprovoked rage. Without warning, she began throwing my groceries at me. Shocked and trying to de-escalate the situation, I barely had time to react before she leapt over the counter!
In a completely unhinged turn of events, she physically restrained me in an arm lockâyes, you read that correctlyâuntil I was forced to beg for mercy. To top it all off, she wouldn't let me go, screaming "who's the governor? Who's the governor?" to which I replied, "You are! You are!" before she finally released me.
This experience was not only humiliating but downright terrifying. A place where customers should feel safe and welcome has turned into a circus of aggression and absurdity.
I strongly urge Kroger to reconsider their hiring practices and take immediate steps to ensure this kind of behavior is never inflicted on another customer. Until then, I will certainly be taking my business elsewhere.
I gave 5 stars...
Read moreWhy oh why can't we have a 0 star option? I went to KROGER IN MARTINSVILLE VIRGINIA to go grocery shopping this morning and I went through self check out, scanned the groceries selected to get cash back no problem there right? Well no cash came out I waited for a minute or two but nothing happened. I walked up front to get someone to help me. The woman at the front desk walked over to the machine with me. They were all talking and I felt like they didn't believe me. So an assistant came over to me and I asked them to check the cameras. They decided to check them it clearly showed when I walked up front to get help the money finally came out. So the manager Mohamed determined that another customer grabbed the money and swiftly left the store. I was advised by my husband to call the police. The Martinsville Virginia police department said they would go by and lol at the cameras. The police department told me to go home and they would call me. I called Kroger corporate they are also looking into it. Now I know $60.00 isn't a lot to some people but it's a lot to me being disabled on a...
Read moreI'm getting tired of the weekly shopping experience at Kroger. They rarely have sale items on the shelf. Again today I went to Kroger Martinsville for the great sale items, and a few other things. Today, peaches: huge display: empty. Multiple different versions of Kroger bratwurst: wasn't empty, until I bought the last one. This is a weekly experience. And then just as an insult, I was trying to purchase regular grits. The type that any self respecting southerner would eat. The only version on the shelf was quick grits. About 8 boxes wide on the shelf. Just to be resilient I asked the gentleman stocking shelves. He looked it up and he said the quick grits is the only kind that they have. And then I saw a loaf of "sourdough" bread. Just to check, because sourdough is the only kind my stomach can tolerate, I read the ingredients: nope, not really sourdough. This store, and Kroger in general is just sad! I just read the article about how they inflated prices way beyond the inflation rate, and got caught! Big business wants to get bigger and rip...
