My A/C compressor wasn't kicking on of course when temperatures were reaching 90 degrees. I was reading reviews for local Hvac companies and I came across the reviews for American Eagle HVAC and was surprisingly pleased. Unfortunately people are getting ripped off without knowing. Mike C came out and told me I needed a new unit completely between $8k-10k. I explained the inside coil didn't have to be replaced so he gave me a price of $5200. That was a red flag right there. I still agreed to the $5200 and told me they would be back the following day. I decided to have someone come and do a 2nd opinion. The person came out for an emergency appointment in the evening and found that Mike cut all the wires and left it. Within 1 hour my 2nd opinion had my A/C up and running for $300, the only thing that the technician did was put a kick start to the compressor after he had to REPLACE ALL THE WIRES MIKE CUT (which Mike insisted he did the kick start). The kick start part is $40 yet American Eagle wanted me to pay $8,000-$10,000 originally then lowered it to $5,200. They were sure to charge me the call out fee of $105 to do absolutely nothing but ruin my unit more by cutting wires. This means 2 things either the company is ripping people off OR they are hiring incompetent technicians. Beware and please get yourself a second opinion!!!!!

Sal is always very professional. He comes on time and is very knowledgeable. He answers all my questions and tells me in advance of any changes that might be required during service. It was recently discovered during routine service that the expansion tank on my boiler was filled with water. Sal gave me a price and was able to reschedule for the following day. The job was completed quickly and job site was thoroughly cleaned of all debris. Highly Recommend! -Seth

Updated Review – August 2025

We hired American Eagle HVAC on 4/25 to replace our full system for $12,480, paid in full. While the crew worked hard, the experience was disappointing due to incomplete work, poor communication, and a lack of accountability.

A duct to our bedroom was never connected, and another we asked to be lifted was left on the floor, blocking attic access.

An experienced tech should have caught the disconnected duct, given: • Raised insulation over the area • No airflow from the vent • Layout consistent with even distribution • A new trunk line installed directly above • Signs of a detached flex duct in the attic

A basic walkthrough would have flagged it which wasn’t done.

After we posted a 1-star review, Sal sent us a “courtesy” agreement offering to finish the job only if we: • Removed our honest review • Voided the 1-year labor warranty • Signed a statement saying they did nothing wrong • Agreed never to contact them again

We don’t consider that a resolution, it felt coercive and one sided. The agreement implied we were being dishonest, which we found disrespectful. We’ve been transparent from the start and simply asked for the work we paid for to be completed.

Their public reply included false claims and personal attacks. Our concerns were labeled “suspicious,” our communication exaggerated, and our character questioned. Instead of taking responsibility, they tried to discredit us.

We had remained patient and proposed what we thought was a fair resolution: complete the work we already paid for and honor the warranty. We made it clear that if the job was finished professionally and aligned with our verbal agreement, we’d revise the review to reflect that it was resolved in good faith. We even welcomed their input. Instead, we were ignored and accused of being unreasonable.

They also failed to notify us when submitting inspection paperwork, despite promising to. We found out only by calling the township. The job then failed inspection due to multiple code violations: • No locking caps on the condenser (Sal had warned us this would fail) • Unsupported plenum (old support boards were left outside) • Unstrapped gas line • Single-wall exhaust pipe too close to combustibles (should be double-wall)

These are basic safety/code requirements. We’ve since hired one contractor to fix the ducts and will have to hire them again to correct the rest.

Overall, their communication, both written and in person was dismissive and unprofessional. We sincerely hope others have a better experience...

I am posting this review almost 18 mos after my install because I didn't want to give a review prematurely. We needed a new unit for the upper level in our home right before summer, especially with a 3-month-old. I received quotes from 4 different companies. Not only did American Eagle provide a competitive quote, but they also exceeded expectations with their service.

They provided guidance with the high-efficiency programs (we secured 0% interest financing) They were timely, professional, and worked clean They were very responsive (Sal answered or got back to me quickly) They stuck to their word and did what they said they were going to do

Ultimately, I even used them for our small business/commercial space. Needless to say, working with a smaller/family-run company was the way to go (it usually is). Thank you...
