Marshalls — Local services in Matthews

Good deals and cute items in store but I give only 1 because of how atrocious their bathroom (singular, not plural, because one is ALWAYS out of order) is. I could probably leave a sock in a corner of the bathroom and it wouldn’t be touched for probably months. We frequent this one because I like their baby clothes and it’s the closest one to us but I kind of dread it just because I know my potty training toddler will have to use it. It’s so bad I would almost rather my daughter wet her pants than use this bathroom. There are large dust bunnies on the floor and wall trim that clearly did not gather overnight, that’s months of neglect. It constantly smells like strong urine. Oh and the handicap button doesn’t work so you’re forced to touch the nasty handle that’s probably never disinfected, even dealing with a wheelchair or a stroller. I swear I’m not a Karen, but this is BAD. This review is not coming from my one visit today but our multiple visits over the last few months at LEAST. I shopped here on 1/30/23 between 1-4:30pm. I had just left a store full of massive mixed up clothing chaos with no dressing room and employees standing around in the middle of the store leaning on a rack, chatting. That was very aggravating. I drove here from across town knowing I could find what I was looking for fairly easily and I was right and I always buy things I don't need. 😊 There was a manager here who was involved in giving instruction on clothing racks and such, nearby and when she was finished, I told her how much I appreciated the clean, organized store and that it was like night and day from where I just left. Thanks to the pleasant, cheery, attentive manager and hard workers. My only "con" with coming here is that there needs to be a full house of cashiers because there are so many shoppers, this being an impulse-buying store and all. Have enjoyed shopping at Marshall in Matthews for many years. Do love their clothes, shoes and home products.

Hard to shop if you need to use a restroom and none are available.

They had only 1 bathroom for men and 1 for women for many years. Finally they made both open to men and women.

For the last several months, only one has been usable. Today none was available. The cleanliness of these bathrooms, leaves a lot to be desired, allways.

Today 4 people wanted to use the restroom, and one was a pregnant lady.

This is unacceptable if you want people to stay in your store and in your long waits at checkout, without having access to a restroom.

Ask and Management said, they had called but no one comes?? Get your upper management involved.
