Appliance arrived defective. Would not turn on after the install. They made attempts to send a technician to fix it but they did not want to replace the item. We were without a dryer for almost two weeks and told two different technicians would have to deem it was not working right for them to replace the item per the manufacturer's warranty.
During this time there was a lack of care from the salesperson who was sarcastic about the situation. No true care or customer service at all. Someone who we would never go back to as well as recommend others not to. Lack of response from the services department as well. Made multiple calls to get a response or to schedule.
What has happened to "if an item is defective it can be exchanged replaced or returned?" Isn't that what most businesses/retail stores agree to? An agreement is made at the time of the transaction. I pay for a product I am satisfied with. If I am not satisfied then I should be able to request for a refund or replacement.
This item was installed without being able to power on even after a technician looked at it. That is a defective item. We didn't even run it once before it didn't work. That should mean it shouldn't be sold to anyone and returned to the manufacturer.
Second technician came and got it to work but it only lasted for a short time. Fast forward to less than 6 months later it’s back to its original problem and at this time we do not know if this will be a recurring issue. It's very frustrating to be stuck with a product the company does not want to replace.
We will never go back to Hamai Appliance again. Friendly during the sales transaction and you would think you would receive even better care when you really need it but unfortunately that’s not the case. We like to support local companies but with Hamai and their type of service and unknown policies and requirements we will go to their competition instead and refer others to do the same. If I could give 0 stars even a negative star I would. I had better experiences and care from Sears than Hamai.
Update of my review 11/12/21: Mahalo Keli’i for your help in resolving this issue. Keli’i went above and beyond to ensure that we were taken cared of by providing an immediate response to our concern, ensured quick service was made to fix our broken dryer, and placed a new one on order while providing continuous updates. Truly a man behind his word and did “make everything...
Read moreI would like to say that everything here was great, but we purchased a whole kitchen full of GE Cafe’ Series appliances and the dishwasher has never worked properly.
I bought the extended warranty so Hamai has been good to continue to replace part after part but nothing has fixed it. It has been 3+ years, so I tried to call the owner, but he hasn’t returned my call in the 2 weeks since I called him.
I have suggested to the service coordinator that perhaps it is time for them to talk to GE about a replacement since it has NEVER WORKED. She was nice but believed the extended warranty would keep covering part replacement only. I am a pediatric dentist (retired). I ran my own business/practice and ignoring someone with a problem is not a good solution. However, the owner has decided not to help me get in touch with GE. Not sure why bc HE WON’T RETURN MY CALL!
The dishwasher is a lemon. I bought from Hamai because of their reputation for good service. Their service department keeps diligently coming out and replacing parts which is great, but for over 3 years has not solved my problem with this dishwasher.
Apparently the Owner’s name is Bryant.
In fairness, except for this glaring problem that is really on GE, Hamai has been pretty attentive. I wish I could give 5 stars but at this point and after 3+ years I can’t.
If they contact me and help resolve this with GE I will amend this review.
I am hoping that the owner, Bryant, has been on vacation and will call me this week!
(This is the dishwasher. It is nice but doesn’t work, so the condo owners association has given me a “loaner” the doesn’t stop working in the middle. Sadly, the loaner is WHITE and doesn’t match. Guests have...
Read morePurchased a whole new kitchen of high end appliances: fridge, oven, wine, dishwasher, vent, & microwave. The purchase process was fine but the install and service are laughable at best. The guys that come out are actually great, its the office.
I paid for dishwasher to be installed along with other appliances. After 3 visits the DW was still not installed. I actually opened it to find the foam and parts all inside! Frustrated I called Dean Torres who rushed over and installed it for me. I asked Hamai to refund the DW install and they refuse.
Same DW has not worked since it was installed, not due to Dean, but due to a broken soap dispenser. They came out and have ordered a new soap dispenser. Impossible to get them to come back out to put it in. The ladies on the phone are rude. I now have to wait 2 more weeks for them to have availability to make my brand new DW work that has never worked in nearly 2 months. And they expect you to keep an entire day available for their morning call, which always comes when Im in zoom calls.
This is all really a shame as I would love nothing more than to have a nice experience spending all this money and have everything working. The least they could do would be nice on the phone. Incredibly uncoordinated and mismanaged company. I will say the guys that come out to help are very nice and extremely capable.
I will update this if the DW ever gets repaired and if I am ever refunded for the install that I did not receive.
UPDATE 2/26/24: the soap dispenser still does not work. I am now 5 months post...
