Experience of a lifetime!
I started writing this review back in January 2020 after our trip to Hawaii, then got busy, then COVID hit and I had decided it wasn't that high of a priority. Now that Hawaii is reopening and people are started to travel, I thought it was important to brag on this company.
We went to Hawaii for our 20th Wedding Anniversary earlier this year. It was our first time and my wife and I wanted to do a helicopter tour because we had always heard how incredible it was.
The day before our excursion, we received a call indicating that "no one else was booked" with us on the day/time of our appointment, so they would need to reschedule as they will only fly the helicopters with at least 4 people - however they offered us an upgrade if we came earlier the same day, so we took it.
As an FYI - it was about a 45 min drive from Lahaina where we were staying to the airport / heliport. The heliport is right next to the airport where you will fly in so it will likely take at least 30-45 min to go to and from the hotel, so keep that in mind when booking.
We booked the "Hana Rainforest" experience where you fly around the island and into the Hana Rainforest, land for a few minutes to look around, then fly back up the east side of the island. However, when we got there it was rainy and they said we couldn't do that tour b/c the rainforest was to wet and muddy to fly and land - so they again upgraded us!
We ended up doing a tour that left Maui heliport and flew north toward the island across the bar called Molokai and we were NOT disappointed.
When we took off, we flew north up the east coast and across the way to the island of Molokai. Molokai is a smaller, private island with only about 6000 residents and almost no tourism. Much of the island is rainforest and can only be reached by air or a treacherous mountain climb. We flew to several waterfalls - some that were over 3000 feet high - and we were able to fly right up next to them! We even flew right next to one of the big waterfalls that was used in Jurassic Park (right at the beginning before the helicopter lands in the "park"). In addition, we flew up and over these huge "cliffs" on the back side of the island. All I can say is "breath taking"!! From there we flew over to the west side of Molokai and saw some of the bluest clear water I have ever seen (and I've traveled all over the Caribbean). We also saw several whales, giant see turtles, and even a ray that was likely 12' across its wingspan! Believe it or not, you could actually see quite a bit and the pilot was able to dip the helicopter down so we got a great view of all the wildlife. After that, we flew back down the west side of Maui and across the "plains" where we were able to get a great look at Lahaina, including our hotel, and several incredible houses.
The entire trip took about 2 hours and it was WELL WORTH IT! I think we paid about $600 for the two of us, but it was easily $1000 worth of value (and that's actually a lot of money for us; I don't think we've ever spent that much on any excursion in our travels but I would do it again).
If you're wondering, the pilots are all very well trained. Ours was an x-military pilot and they know their stuff really well, so don't be nervous. The flight itself is actually pretty smooth although my wife got a little queasy toward the end (I recommend taking Dramamine if you get motion sick). Also, you can take LOTS of photos and videos so bring your camera or phone. At the end of the flight, they will take your photo with the pilot on the helipad an I think we paid like $30 or $40 for a very nice plaque that is now in my office to remind me of the trip.
All in all, this is a great company. They are easy to work with, responsive, and they really go the extra mile to make sure you have a...

I recently had the privilege of embarking on a Maverick Helicopter tour in Maui, Hawaii, and it was an absolutely breathtaking experience. From start to finish, the adventure was nothing short of magical.
Our pilot was exceptionally friendly and inviting, making everyone feel comfortable and excited for the journey ahead. His knowledge of the area and engaging commentary added a personal touch to the tour, enhancing the overall experience.
The highlight of the trip was undoubtedly the stunning waterfalls we encountered. Seeing these natural wonders from above offered a perspective that is impossible to capture from the ground. The sheer beauty and power of the cascading water left us in awe.
We also had the opportunity to land on a plush, Maverick-owned parcel. This private area was a hidden gem, filled with an abundance of fruit and unique plants indigenous to the region. It was like stepping into a lush paradise, with vibrant greenery and exotic flora all around us.
Adding to the serenity of the location was a lovely brook with crystal clear, flowing water. The gentle sounds of the brook provided a tranquil backdrop, making the moment even more special.
To top it all off, we enjoyed a delightful champagne toast at the landing site. It was the perfect way to celebrate this unforgettable experience.
I highly recommend the Maverick Helicopter tour in Maui. It is an experience that combines the thrill of flight with the serene beauty and natural landscapes of Maui, creating memories that will...
Read moreUnfortunately didn’t make the trip due to bad communication and treatment from the corporate office in Nevada. I weight a lot, close to or at the 300 lb limit. Maybe 5-10 lbs over depending, but close enough I’m going to find out for sure before spending another $350
When I booked the ticket I got an email saying if I was over the limit (without purchasing an extra $350 seat in advance), they could cancel my trip on the day of (which was planned for my 25th anniversary) without refund.
So. I dropped by the Maui office three days ago at 4pm (when it says they are open) and no one was home. The following day I called and spoke with the local agent and discussed with him. He checked the reservation and said we were paired with another couple and aircraft weight was ok. “No need to come in to check”
Today about 9am got a friendly call from a local Hawaii number confirming the flight- all good. Then about noon got a call from a Las Vegas (maverick corporate) phone number and the tone was way different- saying I better pay for the extra seat now or they would not have room (weight) an would cancel me day of and there would be no refund. When i told her the info above she said they must be new, i was given wrong info
So, i just canceled- I will look for a company that will be more honest and helpful than taking what should be a fun experience and adding...
