Had a very sad and pathetic time here at the airport on Christmas Day. Our flight was cancelled and we were rebooked for the next day mid afternoon; a whole 24 hours later. Hotels are extraordinarily expensive especially last minute. A lot of people on our flight actually got rebooked for a later flight and felt that the airline could have done more for us considering we werenât at the ticket counter as soon as they did not announce the cancellation, (we all found out by looking at the monitor ourselves). Once we began questioning the airline personal they did not like it and called police on us. About 10 of them came over to my husband and I, it was completely embarrassing and humiliating, only for the supervisor to come and lie to the police saying my husband was being unruly and yelling. It was not true, she was being unruly and loud herself. The police was not helpful and we were reminded that this is a small island. They all have each others backs even when they are in the wrong. We had our two small kids with us just to make matters all worse, and was probably one of the few times I have ever been thankful they have a disability because they werenât even aware that 10 police officers were encircling us. We ended up rebooking with a different airline and requested to get a refund from the first. We went to the ticket counter because we thought it would be different people only to run into more attitude from the agent. Things started fine until the supervisor from upstairs told her about us and she came back very condensing calling me âdearâ only to then call the police on me this time!!! The same 10 showed up. There was one that was a new face and at first he was being very disrespectful. I had to ask him to treat me with respect, how sad. For another 20 minutes these officers encircled us while the supervisor agent pretended to help us only to let us down again, with a smirk. It was disgusting. Needless to say, this leaves me zero desire to ever come back here . These people gang up on you and you are helpless. Learn from our mistake and book through a different airport if you still want to come to Hawaii. There was no Aloha...
Read moreThis rating is just for the TSA staff not for other airport staff membersâŚ. We had an amazing experience with my family over the last week +. However the only negative at the end of the trip was watching the negative actions by the airport staff. Busy holiday weekends and larger groups of people add additional chaos for the customer and vendor, however I watched TSA agents get made at a mother traveling alone who was confused on what to do and literally toss her child seat to the ground out of frustration with her because she asked for help and was really confused traveling alone. I also watched another agent yell at the entire crowd about security rules. From someone who travels on a monthly basis there is a way to communicate to crowds who need constant reminders and holding up someoneâs âpinkâ water bottle to shame them and then to toss it in frustration is not a polished example. It causes extra anxiety and actually more errors by your nervous travelers. I actually left my phone in my pocket when I was getting my children together which was no big deal, I was ok grabbing a new bowl to put it in. However the attitude and tone from the agent and the agitation he had when I asked if I could put it on the other scanner since my kids and I were walking through a different one was simply unnecessary. Everything else about the airport I enjoyed, the layout, the access, access to restaurants and shops even in the late hours was great. I just think if we want to build trust and commitment with your customers it starts with your structure and thatâs the face of your building of who you allow operate...
Read moreThe OGG Airport in Maui provided a fast, efficient, and hassle-free experience from start to finish. The process of checking in, going through security, and baggage check was smooth and well-organized, allowing passengers to move quickly through the lines without unnecessary delays. One thing to note is that there are a few mandatory agricultural inspections before you board your flight, specifically for checked baggage. This is standard in Hawaii to ensure that no restricted plants, fruits, or other agricultural products leave the islands. The process was quick and straightforward, and the staff handled it professionally. The airport itself is well-maintained, with clean facilities, plenty of seating, and strong air conditioning in the indoor areas, making it a comfortable place to wait for a flight. Unlike some airports that can feel chaotic and overwhelming, OGG is laid-back and easy to navigate, which adds to the overall stress-free experience. I had absolutely no issues during my time at OGG, and honestly, I wish more airports operated this efficiently. However, every airport has its own systems and challenges, so I know this level of convenience isnât always the case elsewhere. Overall, flying into and out of Mauiâs OGG Airport on Hawaiian Airlines was a pleasant experience, and I wouldnât hesitate to travel through here again. Until...
