On Saturday January 11 , my flight from Guatemala to Los Angeles arrived on time, but I encountered a significant issue at immigration. The line was exceptionally long, and it took nearly three hours to get through passport control. Despite explaining that I had a connecting flight, immigration staff dismissed our concerns, stating that if we wanted to arrive on time, we should avoid commercial flights and use private planes instead.
By the time I cleared immigration, I rushed to catch my United Airlines flight to Maui, scheduled for 8:40 AM. Unfortunately, I missed it. When I approached the United Airlines staff for assistance, I was met with rude and dismissive behavior. They told me it wasnât their fault and made no effort to help me resolve the situation.
I explained that I didnât know anyone in Los Angeles and needed help finding accommodations or rebooking my flight. Instead of offering support, they coldly told me it wasnât their problem and suggested I could sleep at the airport until the next flight. Feeling helpless and overwhelmed, I broke down in tears, yet no one offered any assistance or compassion.
I attempted to escalate the matter by asking to speak to a manager. However, I was told by front desk staff to step aside because they were too busy and that speaking to a manager wasnât necessary. I was essentially dismissed and left to fend for myself.
This experience was incredibly disheartening and left me feeling abandoned in a city where I had no resources or connections. The lack of professionalism and empathy shown by the staff was unacceptable, and I believe this matter deserves attention to ensure no one else has to endure a...
Read moreIt's not so much the several delays of our flight that is of much concern to me. It's the safety of our aircraft that is an issue with me on flight UA706 to LAX.
These are my concerns as my Brother, my Mother, and I (the only family I have) have been sitting here on the tarmac with one hundred or so other passengers with the staff giving us mixed messages while everyone is now missing their connecting flights.
They boarded a plane traveling to the mainland departing from Kahului, Maui, BEFORE they fixed an "issue with the pins securing the right engine".
Maui is under a severe weather alert due to flash floods from thunderstorms, in which everyone with a smart phone has been receiving emergency alerts since Monday night.
After they "secured the issue", we sat on the tarmac preparing for take-off, which was put on hold due to "paperwork issues regarding take-off".
After sitting on the tarmac for some time, preparing for take-off, they finally notified us that the weather radar on the plane is NOT WORKING.
The weather radar is not working? Did I mention it was pouring rain? Did I mention the emergency severe weather alerts since Monday night? Why even leave the gate knowing the weather radar was...
Read moreChristopher and his attentiveness, patience and management skills are the reasons 5 stars and the review itâs for recognition of a good employee. Our flight was delayed, which means we would miss our layover. Christopher noticed and came to offer assistance. He started assisting multiple issues simultaneously and seamlessly, not knowing we were a group. He offered to help with more information on connecting flights and times. Within minutes Christopher created a new flight plan for our group. We weâre still delayed our connecting flight about a day late, not the-airlines fault. Iâm sure God was in it because we enjoyed our interaction with Christopher and he saved us...
