From what I understand, Private Paradise Villas (PPV) is a vacation booking agency for Wailea Beach Villas (WBV), among other properties. We stayed at WBV for 10 days back in October.
We had a very negative experience, with our rental and the way in which PPV handled our concerns.
Our unit was right on the property line that separated WBV from the Marriott next door. The problem was the noise. Our second night there the Marriott had back to back Luau's, which lasted for about 4 hours.
Same thing the next night. It was really, really loud. Pounding drums and loud chanting. Same thing two days later. Too loud to be on the porch. On our fifth night the Marriott hosted a Corporate event, with a DJ, dancing, etc. It was so loud that we couldn't talk, inside our unit, with the doors closed. The DJ was screaming "How loud can you get" to the drunken partiers. We had an infant child with us, that couldn't sleep - and I walked to the Marriott to try to complain. I was accosted by security guards who told me to "Take it up with my association", and that they were "Not violating the noise ordinances". That was my first hint that people have had problems in the past.
I called PPV that night and the next day. Their response was that the contract specified that there would be ambient noise, and that no one had ever complained before. They were borderline rude and uncaring, but the worst part was that this apparently is not the truth. I walked around the property the next day and chatted with many of the WBV employees about the noise. Virtually all of them acknowledged that it had been, and continues to be a problem.
The resort is spectacular, the location is good, our villa was great, but the noise is a significant issue - especially if you are on the right side of the property and near the beach.
I get that excessive noise can happen in a crowded resort setting from time to time. It also wasn't the end of the world.
However, you would think that PPV would do something to try to mitigate the damage to our trip. Not PPV, they offered no rebate, no credit, nor any sincere sympathy for our very poor experience at the resort. The worst part? They clearly know that they have this problem and don't...
Read moreWe had the pleasure of working with Private Paradise Villas (PPV) in Kihei to reserve at the Wailea Beach Villas in November. We travel to Maui annually and I usually reserve using VRBO. The level of service from all points of contact with PPV was exceptional. I was notified prior to arrival that there may be some construction near the exterior of the villa we rented and they upgraded us to unit H401, which has a fantastic corner balcony. Although I’m well-versed in working with VRBO, I will use POV in the future. It’s nice knowing there is a local staff should any issues arise, they were kind to move us to a different unit where we wouldn’t be bothered by noise, they helped me rebook for next year and deciding among different villas. We were also surprised with a beautiful welcome basket filled with coffee, fruit, muffins, cookies, etc. Their cleaning crew does an amazing job as well. I believe there was a staff of 4. The company has access to many accommodation types in several locations so offer something for everyone. The cost of using this company is also nominal and the benefits by far are worth it. Mahalo to all the staff at Private Paradise Villas. We look forward to staying at WBV again next November!...
Read moreSandy Surf K508 is a great place to stay at Wailea! Our family had a wonderful stay in Sandy Surf K508. With four bedrooms and three bathrooms, we had plenty of space to gather (and be apart at times, too). We used the grill the first night; that's a great feature! We had a professional chef prepare a special meal in the fully (and I mean FULLY) equipped kitchen one night, and we prepared many of the rest of our meals on a catch-as-catch-can basis as busy adults kept their own schedules. This unit is a wonderful place to stay and play. The Private Paradise Villas (PPV) concierge helped plan several activities, and the PPV staff made certain we were made aware of any weather that might have interfered with our plans. Check-in and departure were a breeze, with personal help when needed and full instructions other times. We can't always get the entire clan together for a trip like this, but if we do it again, we hope Sandy Surf K508...
