Supermercado Selectos — Local services in Mayagüez

Again, another supermarket in Mayaguez that's disgusting. It seems that every supermarket in Mayaguez is falling apart and not maintained correctly. It all comes down to management. This supermarket is notorious for rotten fruits and vegetables. And I have personally seen the workers stacking fruits on top of ripe/rotten fruits without bothering to remove the bad ones. Every single day they are stocking and have their pallets in the way. Makes it incredibly difficult to navigate and find what you're looking for. I only shop here cause it's the cheapest supermarket in the area. I gave it a one star because the cashiers are nice, they will smile and be polite and have nice conversations with you which makes the horrible shopping experience a little less...

This Selectos is located in a lovely, private locale, by the beach whose sidewalk area was made into a city park, Paseo Del Litoral Israel ' Shorty' Castro. This was my first time buying at this store and it has everything you would normally find in any other Selectos, and that's a good thing. The aisles were well stocked, the personnel was friendly enough, but not as friendly as in their other sister stores; namely those in Aguada and AÑASCO. That's not to say that they didn't do their job, it's just that they didn't have that extra oomph, I just passed it off as maybe they had a bad day. Overall the store and parking lot were clean, the carts were gathered...

Medium size good supermarket with good prices...Has improved a lot in the last weeks...Good choice for Sailing Cruisers to stop by and supply close to shore...After some necessary changes it has gotten much better once again. Let some old people pass in front and Supervisor call to open a new cash register... Very attentive and more...
