Guy behind the counter was super cool and nice, and I know it’s not his call, but I was in a pinch for a single valve pad for a clarinet. Like I went in a half hour before close and needed the clarinet in the morning. My problem mostly, I know, but they don’t sell individual parts without an in-shop repair. I got by with duct tape on the valve for now and ordered a set of pads on Amazon that comes with two of every pad on a clarinet for $10. I would have paid $10 just to get one pad right there and then. It’s a really beat up clarinet that already has tape all over it and really just not worth investing anything more than the pad into. I was willing to deal with the flaws (cracked bottom) since I believed that it was a rental. Our cello teacher informed us that the bridge was too high so when I called in May to get it fixed they informed me that I now owned the instrument and I couldn't exchange it for another rental. Been bringing my son for guitar lessons (Joe Parker is an awesome guitar teacher) here for 8 years all the while it was called Motter Music. Soooo glad the location is still involved with lessons! I consider the funky, old-school location a neighborhood institution ... I so enjoy my visits here since the cool building is like a step back in time.
