If you plan to buy Pokemon cards from Target, please read! I was informed today that all pokrmon card items are non-returnable. Corporate Target cannot be bothered to inform their own customers of this policy, so I wanted to leave a public review about my experience.
For the record, the staff at this location are always fantastic my review has nothing to do with the specific store I was at, and everything to do with Target's corporate policy and communication to customers.
Today I went in to buy a gift for my son -- he wanted a specific pokemon card box. I was fairly certain I had the right one, but my wife was at work and I couldn't check with her right away. I figured I would buy the box since it was the last one on the shelf, and we could return it later to exchange for the correct one if I was wrong. It was $120, so when I was checking out I asked the cashier if there was a special return policy around these items. They said "I don't believe so, this should be a 90 day return with the receipt." So I finished checking out. When the receipt printed, the cashier looked and informed me that on the receipt it said that the item could not be returned at all. This was exactly the kind of situation I was trying to avoid! I went to customer service to see if there was anything I could do before leaving the store. The person there informed me that it was too late, and that all Pokemon cards cannot be returned.
If this is a store wide policy, I expect for corporate to 1: place visible signage by all pokemon card merchandise to make this clear, and 2: fully educate their employees on this special rule. I should not be punished as a shopper for trying to find out if there were any concerns just because corporate Target pulls a bait and switch on customers. I do not blame my specific cashier -- they were doing their best to inform me based on the knowledge they had at hand, and were courteous and helpful throughout the transaction. But this is an unacceptable...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreEmployee at register making racially inappropriate comments... I visited Target on 1/8 to purchase some bakeware items. Upon checking out at the register by the exit door, i was greeted by a tall caucasion guy with dark hair and wearing black glasses. His comments after the greeting is what threw me for a loop. He proceeded to comment about how Black History Month was coming up and talked about Martin Luther King. I could not understand how that had any bearing on the transaction except i was of african amercian descent. Even began to ask questions as if to quiz me on how well do i know my own black history which i found to be offensive, racially insenstive and culture shaming. He wanted to know if i knew when was Martin Luther King jr birthday, which i knew but refused to comment. Even after it was clear that i was not trying to engage in the comments, he continue to comment about how Dr. King has done so much for "my people". The lady behind me was caucasion and was clearly in shock of what was coming out this young guy's mouth. He is a poor representation of Target and what the brand stands for. Little did he know i served my country and was a federal employee who worked with various people of ethnic backgrounds. I would say he has very little experience in that field and has no business in retail. Sadly i will not be returning to this store and warn anyone who is of ethnic background to steer clear in case you too be quizzed on how well you know your culture. Target needs to better train their employees in the area of customer service and appropriate behavior when engaging with customers of various...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTarget, I have to downgrade my rating for this location and several other locations from four stars to two stars. Your stores are becoming an Extreme Mess.
Once upon a time Target stores were so clean, my husband and I made up a Target game as a result of the cleanliness. We playfully nicknamed the floor personnel "Target Fairies". The reason? During our shopping experience, there was a certain mystique about how the floor staff were able to keep the aisles extraordinarily clean and remain lowkey under our radar. The fairies even had helpers we nicknamed "The Distracters"; they hide the fairies activities by asking us if we needed any assistance. On rare occasions, my husband and I would catch a Target Fairy or two picking up something, reorganizing, or restocking the shelves...we were in awe to see this glorious sighting.
To our dismay, the Target Fairies and The Distracters are no more. Instead, we saw staff passing by debris and merchandise on the floor. No one asked the usual question regarding needing assistance. Your staff has dropped the ball on quality service. Now, my husband and I compare Target to And nicknamed Target a competitor that I will not mention. Yup, that's the one...you said it not me.
Target, please retrain your staff on quality service standards. Your customers are spending hard earned money in your stores, and we expect...
