Michaels — Local services in Mayfield Heights

It’s 2:05 pm and 5 minutes ago I was in this store about to self checkout when I realized I got the wrong amount of filler for my dog’s bed so I cancelled my purchase while I went to put the 12 ounce bag back I got instead of the 20 ounce bag (I had four of them). When I got back to the isle, I decided against purchasing it and was leaving the store when the cashier told me he thought I had walked out of the store with the filling without paying. The female customer made a comment that she didn’t see me walk out with anything and that her not seeing me walk out with anything “saved my life”. I have no reason to steal stuffing from a fabric store and while I laughed off the verbal exchange I don’t need to be accused of stealing anything when I would’ve had to walk by him (he was at the last register right next to the exit) to steal anything and I don’t need old women feeling some God Complex of “saving my life because she didn’t see me walk out with anything. It’s 2025 and people are still randomly accusing people who look like me of stealing and this is literally only the 2nd time I’ve been in this store ever (the first was to buy my step mother a craft kit) and I won’t...

Oh my goodness so so expensive. I was over here because I wanted to get some painting supplies to make props for some of my kids I take care of because we’re shooting a movie and stuff but as soon as I got there, I was greeted nicely. I mean the customer service was amazing. It’s just like the overly priced items. I went to the painting sections and I got a 24 pack which was $16 pretty reasonable but then some of the paintbrushes were like $10 $12 for 4 to 6. I found this a little bit expensive and as I was looking, there was paint bottles that were on a clearance, but they were like really liquidy or too runny. Or just completely unusable. and I also needed paper and when I went to get paper like for like a couple, it was like $17. I was super shocked about this. Nice selection of merchandise, but it's hit or miss as to whether they will accept their own coupons for valid purchases. Customer service is less than ideal. I find that I am frequenting other craft stores more and more because of difficulties shopping at Michael's. Why offer coupons if you don't allow your customers to actually use them? Even on the rare occasion I have tried to return an item with a valid receipt, I have been told that the return wasn't allowed or it was extremely difficult to conduct. Not allowed to return something, with my receipt and within the allotted time?!?! That doesn't even make sense! Shopping online with them is almost impossible.
