I went strolling thru the Mercado District with my wife. It's located on N 23rd St. And 3 mile line. It's a large building with lots of tiny booths that sell a variety of stuff. One half of the place is exactly like it used to be before it re-opened and resembles an indoor flea-market. The other half has the spaces where venders sell more elaborately designed with the spaces trimmed in white wood. There is also a food court offering a nice selection of eats. Each eatery is in a shipping container converted into a working kitchen. There is Pizza, Ceviche, Sushi, Burgers being offered to name a few. Wine and Beer is also available as an option to you dining experience. I noticed that there was seating available upstairs from the main court as well. Strolling from one side to the other ( you go thru glass doors) I noticed there is still construction going on, telling me they opened up before they finished the place. Oh yeah, there is foot massages being done on site and a paint your own ceramics spot available. Overall I wasn't to impress with the merchandise being sold nor the decor. I did like the food court, but I don't think If make a special trip...
Read moreFirst of all I found this treasure from word of mouth. My sister in law is a 1st class bargain hunter.she lives in edinburg. My brother loves to shop for great deals. They told me about a little shop run by Mr Lopez . I checked it out sat after 12pm they open at 10am. Stopped by Mr Lopez's place boy I spent a good 35/45 minutes looking through his merchandise. He is very friendly and very knowledgeable of the pieces he has on display. It was interesting to find out that he researches most of his finds and enjoys passing it on to his customers. In the short time he's been there he has returning customers. Amazing find I call them. While there I took several pictures. Hope you all go by and find your great buys. I'm from San Antonio to bad I can't come very weekend to see what new! Good luck Mr. Lopez keep up the good...
