If you are looking for your special dress to get alterations done, Skye is your go-to person. My wedding dress had so much lace, glitter, beading and multiple layers to it, and she altered it with so much care. You can put your complete trust in Skye with taking care of your dress. I promise you it is in the best hands. Skye took wonderful care of my dress and was also extremely flexible when scheduling appointments. She makes you feel beautiful and feel comfortable in her store. All of the other ladies that work in her store are also extremely friendly and kind! They also had a beautiful variety of bridal dresses and accessories!

In addition to Skye’s expertise and professionalism, she was someone who provided me love and support personally. Exactly one week before my wedding, my mother had a stroke and brain bleed. Skye also did some minor alterations to my mother’s dress, and when I went to pick up my dress and her dress I broke down in tears right in Skye’s shop. Her and the other ladies in the shop hugged me and offered to let me come in another day to pick up the dresses. They took the time to listen to me and talked with me about what had happened to my mother. They provided me comfort and were so patient with me. They treated me with so much love and respect.

I am happy to share not only a picture of my beautiful dress Skye altered for me (which fit absolutely perfectly by the way!), but also a picture of my mother and I on my wedding day. My mother made an amazing recovery and was able to get a free pass out of rehab to attend my wedding! She was so happy to wear her dress that Skye altered for her! Also, thank you Skye for the shawl for my mother that matched her dress perfectly! It was so hard to find one that matched! Before my mother’s stroke, she had so much fun going to Skye’s shop with me to try on our dresses together! Overall, my dress turned out nicely but my experience with HOC caused me to be anxious and stressed before my wedding.

Pros: -experience of trying on dresses. staff encouraged me to find what I truly wanted vs. pushing to make a sale -beautiful dresses at fair prices, had sections for different price ranges -my dress was altered/hemmed nicely and ended up beautiful

Cons: -timeliness of receiving my dress, accuracy of my order, and customer service --I bought my dress in November, and they expected it would arrive in May. It did not arrive until September, ONE MONTH before my wedding. I.e. it took 10 months to arrive. We had to constantly call for any updates, and they typically just provided a vague response with no real information. They eventually said it was a shipping issue, but I have not heard of any other brides having this issue. This made me very anxious that the dress would not arrive for my wedding, and I didn't end up getting any real/big alterations (e.g. adding sleeves, changing straps), as I was too worried it wouldn't be finished in time. --They gave me the wrong veil 5 days before I left town for my wedding. It wasn't even close to the veil I ordered. I had to drive back to the store the day before I left town to pick up the correct one which added a lot of unneeded stress (when you're already feeling nervous). They offered no apology and instead made jokes, e.g. that it's impressive they only made this mistake given the busy time of year. They did not offer any explanation and had to frantically make me a new veil. --During my dress fitting, made jokes that I should wear higher heels (so they wouldn't have to hem the dress). House of Couture Designs is by far THE BEST place to shop for anything wedding related. Our first experience with HCD was when my daughter had her appointment to buy her wedding dress. The individualized attention was unbelievable. We were made to feel so special when we walked in the door. One fourth of the store was reserved for us! After a round of introductions a bottle of champagne was offered and of course were accepted! As we moved forward with our appointment our experience just kept getting better. We were seated in comfortable furniture while all the attention was then given to my daughter who tried on NUMEROUS dresses. Dress after dress after dress and each one was stunning. Our attendant never grew tired of my daughter's requests and after what seemed like almost every dress in the store was tried on the tears began to flow and we knew we had found the one! As the mother of the bride I knew I would return to find my own dress at this store. When it was my turn, Skye, the owner opened her store on a Sunday to accommodate my appointment. I tried on only a few dresses, all the while Skye offering her constructive and professional opinion to guide me through this process. I found a dress that looks beautiful on me and I can't wait to wear it. This store also has everything you need to complete your look on that special day.
