If I could leave negative stars for service I would. To start- When we arrived there was a homeless man loitering in the lobby and out front and the lady at the front desk told us to watch for him as she thought he came from the bus stop and was lingering around the grounds. ||||100% not worth the price. We are originally from this area and come back every month or two and always stay at Marriott hotel of some sort because we Silver lifetime status and have never had such a terrible experience as this. We always stay in cranberry but decided to try this location in mccandless as it was closer to a few places we were visiting to change it up a bit. Highly recommend ANY other hotel in the area. The tvs were tiny and just sitting on the desk, room tiny itself and very dated, terrible upkeep. Cannot tell this is a newer property. ||||The largest issue was from the customer service “manager”. I have never been so offended and felt so disrespected by someone in customer service yet with a supposed manager title. This hotel is 10000% not animal friendly even if your animal is a service animal and you have certified paper work to provide such because he would not even look at it. We were asked directly by said manager (After checking in with ZERO issue the night prior with pleasant lady working the front) and I quote: “Are you disabled?!” Yelling at me when coming in the lobby from taking our service dog out first thing in the morning. This caught me incredibly off-guard as you can imagine. To which I replied “why do I look disabled??” . He said pets weren’t allowed and asked our room number to which we gave him. And advised we checked in last night with him without issue and he said “well I wasn’t here last night”. Dumfounded- We went back up to our room in shock. We were going to request late checkout and I went back down to the desk to discuss further and bring the documentation down for my dog in an effort to settle things. Very long story short I have never been so offended in my entire life with him arguing in front of everyone in the lobby calling me a liar and refusing to look at any documentation. Waving a paper in my face that he had ada regulations and wanted me to recite them to him saying I didn’t know the laws. He was so degrading waving the paper in my face but would not actually show me said written policy. Much more was exchanged but to be disrespected and labeled as disabled and in front of a lobby of people and families eating breakfast was humiliating. I have the entire interaction on video and when I rewatch I am appalled by this man’s behavior. I literally had just gotten off a flight with my service animal, and stayed at several other hotels (that do not allow pets) without any issue at all. He was on his leash, and did not make a peep or any other indication that he was not trained to be there as a certified service animal. ||||He even took it a step further when we checked out ripped the keys from our hands saying nothing and proceeded to charge us a “pet fee” for the room. For $35. For a whopping $35 this man felt the need to treat us in such a disrespectful ignorant way. I would’ve given him the $35 since that was clearly his only concern. This is embarrassing that a Marriott franchise would make a discriminating man like this a manager to be the face of customer...

Read moreI thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The room was immaculate and comfortable, and most of the staff were exceptionally friendly and professional. In particular, Brandon stood out as one of the most pleasant individuals I’ve ever encountered. His positive energy and genuine passion for his work were evident, and he went above and beyond to assist me.
The hotel demonstrates great compassion by offering discounted rates for guests visiting due to reasons related to Passavant Hospital. This gesture is greatly appreciated.
The only area for improvement would be the internet service, as both the internet speed and the streaming on the internet TV occasionally suffered from buffering issues. Aside from that, my experience was outstanding.
The hotel provided a very accommodating and relaxing environment. The indoor pool was a delightful feature, and the fitness center was a valuable addition. Of course, the complimentary breakfast was a highlight as well. I would absolutely recommend this location.
The side of the hotel facing Passavant Hospital offers a stunning view, and the rooms were cozy and inviting. The atmosphere was peaceful, with minimal disturbances, creating a laid-back and secure environment. It is also situated in a lovely neighborhood where guests can feel safe walking around even at night.
In conclusion, I was extremely satisfied with the service and my overall experience. I would not hesitate to stay there again and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting McCandless Crossing. It truly exceeds its...
