To start at the beginning of this horrid situation: My family and myself called ahead 4 hours in advance to reserve a table for eight people for 6:30. The entire party arrived by 6:20 and we were told we will be seated momentarily. No big deal, so we decide to go to the bar and get a few drinks and get a few laughs in. However, this is where it started to turn south. Sitting at the bar, a family member notices that 30 minutes have passed and is now 7pm, so we talk to the greeter asking for an update - only to be given a smart remark and a rude push off in the terms of "We will call you when we call you now go away." This should have been our cue to leave, however: a weekend dinner rush, and we were at the restaurant that we "ALL READY RESERVED A TABLE." (Quoted because apparently the word reserved to them means give it to anyone and everyone.) One hour after our scheduled time and we are finally seated. Hungry, we anticipate the server to take our order. But again, another half hour passes - this is where seven out of eight of us lose our patience, however again we give them the benefit of the doubt. It's a Saturday night, it's busy. The server FINALLY takes our order and we are good to go. Or so we thought. The time it took from when our server to take our order to the food being served to us wasn't the problem, but everything in between. In that time-frame, another server dropped a glass full of water, showering one of the guests sitting at my table - the server just kept walking and did not give one care. This instantly caused us all to be extremely angry with the establishment, and I went to the front podium and asked for the manager - but no one showed up. After that scenario, another server while carrying a highchair decided to pivot her footing, turning around, and smacking another one of the guests at my table right in the ribs - that was it. All eight of us demanded to see the manager. The manager finally arrives and is very apathetic of the situation, and after he discussed with the guest who got hit with the highchair, his only comment was "Call us before you go to the hospital." Whether or not this was to ensure Longhorn pays, or for him to cover his behind, still was extremely unprofessional. Finally the meal arrives and my appetite is gone, at this point I am livid I am ordering drinks at the bar and socializing with the only sane and upstanding staff member at the restaurant. (I can not remember his name, however, he was the ONLY person working in that building that actually made a good impression on this disastrous night.) I go back to the table to see the steak that one member of the party ordered (She ordered it well done.) was entirely pink in the middle - medium-rare. Strike one, two and three all in one visit. I was not looking for a discount, I was looking for a great night out with my family members. This restaurant did not give us any positive experience, and the entire service from start to finish was extremely well below any bar set. You would be find better service in a graveyard, in a subway, or behind the dumpsters at McDonalds (Which is located down the road, I would suggest to indulge yourself with horrible food before taking a step in here.)
Due to all scenarios, especially with the server that hit my guest with a highchair, I have been in contact with their corporate e-mail, and I will make sure that the justice of that will be served. The glass falling, while was a bad situation accidents happen. As for the managers attitude, the only words I'd like to say to you: "you need to step out of hospitality and get away from the public, your skills definitely need improvement and you are unfit to be managing."
To anyone who reads the entire novel I have written, each scenario did happen, and I am warning you all. While the food is good, please, save yourself from having an absolute horrid visit to...
Read morePoor service and mediocre food.
Where to start… This was the worst visit I have experienced at any restaurant, not only was the service from the waiter poor, the food was mediocre at best, and the management a joke. First off while placing the order the waiter didn’t listen well to what I had ordered when I asked to add an additional side and not switch my side salad for something else.
The side that he replaced the salad with never came out of the kitchen and of course the waiter had no idea because he was no where to be found nor check on his tables. We sat for nearly 15 mins with no drinks with our meals, again cause he never bothered to come check till everyone was nearly done eating. Broccoli was nothing more than a dollar store frozen bag heated up in a microwave, just absolutely soggy and awful.
We were nearly finished with our meals before we got a refill on any beverage, then when made aware the side I had ordered never arrived, he said he would let the manager know and offered to remake it. While at that point I no longer wanted the side as I was already done eating the steak while leaving the mast broccoli behind.
The manager never came to ask or offer any solution until asked again for them to come out. The manager then only made excuses for the waiter saying he was in the bathroom and forgot to ask someone to cover their table. Then no offer to comp or make up for their errors but just laughed and basically telling us that he was in their bathroom (probably wiping his rear end before coming back to our table?)
The point of going to the restaurant to eat is to be able to relax and not have to cook our own meal, enjoy the service and not have to work and go find the wait staff to find out why the order was wrong or ask why no one came to check on the table.
If you know how to cook a steak like myself, don’t bother eating here. The steak was the only “ok” part of the meal, but the experience was absolutely horrendous. I will continue to cook my own steaks rather than visit this place ever again as I am sure that mine would win any competition if ever put side by side to the one...
Read moreI have never before been treated by a restaurant in such a terrible manner. I have been going to LongHorn Steakhouse since it's been at McCandless Crossing. I was there on Friday with my brother-in-law and asked to be seated. They sat us at a table and after a short while I noticed that the table was greasy and haven't been wiped yet. I was discussing it with my friend and the girl who was taking care of the tables said I haven't had a chance to wipe that yet. I had to wonder why they didn't give us a table that had already been cleaned. The Adventure Continues. We then asked for two steaks, one would be medium and one would be medium rare. We also ordered two salads, one with Italian dressing and one with ranch dressing. When the steaks came out neither one had a marker to identify the rareness. The waitress took a look at each steak indeed which one was medium rare and which one was medium. As we got into the steaks we noticed the exact opposite was true. When the check came we also noticed but they did not have Italian dressing. I was charged for white balsamic vinegar dressing. I asked the waitress about it and she said we don't have Italian dressing, I gave you the closest thing to it. I mentioned that it didn't taste it all like Italian and she apologized. As much as I have enjoyed this restaurant in the past we have no intention of going back there. I have no idea what's happening but I'll just go to Outback from now on....
