Heritage Park Veterans Museum — Local services in McDonough

Today we had the honor and privilege of visiting heritage Park veterans museum in Henry county Georgia. We were pleasantly surprised at all the museum contained. It is definitely a hidden gem in the state of Georgia. It is a wonderful place for people of all ages to learn about our military history. There is a special emphasis on the desegregation of our military which I found to be very interesting and enlightening. We need to make sure our young people know and appreciate the sacrifices that are men and women have made to serve our wonderful country. Please visit this free museum whenever you have a chance! Was down here for work and had an hour to myself. Found this park on Google maps and I was not disappointed. This is a beautiful and well thought out park. The memorials are taken care of, the flag is at half mast. The trails were a nice walk as well.

The museum is a must see if you're in the area. It's by far one of the best military museums I've ever been to and I travel quite often and see as many as I can.

Small but perhaps perfectly formed, the Heritage Park Veterans Museum sits within an iron red barn. Inside, there is an impressive array of military artifacts.

The earliest go back more than one hundred years to the US involvement in the First World War, with displays continuing to the modern military of the present day.
