New China 1 — Restaurant in McDonough

UPDATE- 9/2/2022 They have stopped serving Egg Foo Young and are not sure when they will serve it again due to rising food prices (oil, eggs, etc.)

JULY 20, 2022 Our family is new to the area, so I decided to start trying the different Chinese restaurants in the area, this being the first.

I decided to try their chicken and broccoli combo, which comes with a pork or veggie egg roll, for $10.25. My pork egg roll was full of pork meat and not the tiny pieces of pork other restaurants serve. It came with a dipping squce and was also pretty good. I substituted the plain fried rice for pork fried rice, which was an extra $3. The chicken and broccoli is a little bit bland in my opinion. I have had Chinese that is full of flavor with every bite. The pork fried rice is good. The serving is like a lunch sized plate. I think they should serve dinner sized combos in dinner sized plates, not lunch sized, especially for the $13 I paid for it, because of the pork fried rice.

The dining room is currently take out only.

I'm a visual person, so I have added pictures. The menu prices you see in my pictures are of the most current prices. The restaurant has also uploaded a current menu.

I gave it 4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ because of the 2 ladies I spoke with. They were friendly and nice. Also because I liked the pork fried rice.

I believe in reviews, but sometimes, we have to make our own judgment and try a place at least once.

I am new to the area and reviews are very important for me to decided on where to eat in most cases. When I saw the reviews on the restaurant I was skeptical about eating here and the fact I am not real big on Chinese food as much as my kids are, I do have the cravings for it sometimes. One day leaving Publix I decided I wanted some Singapore and decided to give it a try and especially after seeing it was under new management I figured it wasn’t as before. Although, I never tried it before it went under management so I can not say how it was before. I went one day, then another day and then I continued to come, I have to admit this is far more the BEST Chinese food I have had in a very long time. The pepper steak, the orange chicken, shrimp Singapore and the sesame chicken are delicious. I can not say anymore then this regarding the taste of the food and staff is very friendly and sociable, I did tell them Chinese food without fresh brewed tea was my only disappointment in a suggested type of way, but I went to Subway and got a sweet tea. I placed my order over the phone. I ordered directly from their online menu, right here. I went in to pick up my order and there were upset customers being attended to. The employees continued to yell and scream at each other even after the customer left. The cook called them "crazy" when they left. OK, now my turn. The young man gave me my total and it seemed much higher than what I ordered. I checked to make sure the order was correct and it was. I said, how can 2 combo dinners at $6.15 each come to over $16? He said the combos are $7.50 each. I said you need to update your online menu as it is incorrect. He said we don't have an online menu, anyone can make that. I said are you for real? That's your answer? Then another employee (woman) came out and laughed at me. I said bait and switch is not funny, but she continued to laugh. I paid for my order, signed my ticket and he told me to sign it on the line, not where I had signed it. These people and this place can rot before I will step foot in there again. I don't care about the few dollars, but how I was treated was beyond...
