Water Street Shoppe — Local services in McHenry

i had seen this shop for a while and hadn't had the time to stop in. I was so excited to visit a dope little hippy shop with custom personal tie dye. unfortunately I was met with an overwhelming amount of hate speech and propaganda. So we quietly left the facade and wrote a review as one does to warn fellow humans of like mind. My boyfriend, my 10 year old daughter and myself have since been met with nothing but hate. The way they treat humans who don't agree with their agenda is absolutely atrocious. They have posted videos of my child on their social media without consent claiming to show some sort of incident. When I nicely asked them to take it down HE informed me that "the police said it's fine". They have blatantly misgendered my boyfriend throughout the entire interaction. They have even gone as far as posting screenshotted conversations between themselves and friends joking about the humor of it all. To say it's sad would be an understatement. The way people treat each other matters and when you promote bigotry to make a profit makes you a part of the problem. I really expected better from a place that claims to promote love and light. I truly hope they find the space to heal from their hateful mindset and...

if I could leave less than 1 star I would Moved here from VT, I was super excited to see a small mom & pop tie dye shop in town. I heard they were closing soon so I made it a priority to go in before I didn't have the opportunity. The owners, they were eager to show off their art work & the shop they spent their time working in. Unfortunately once I took a few steps inside I saw propaganda that promotes hate. I don't understand how you can sit there making a profit off of a lifestyle that is about inclusivity, diversity, & community while selling flags that promote just the opposite. I won't spend my money or time anywhere that doesn't accept everyone. Really disappointed that I didn't feel safe or welcomed.

Great place and going to miss them... They are moving out of state. As for the people that posted '1 star' in the past week... It is because one of them got kicked out of the store and the police called on them for spewing and yelling racist accusations at the store owner. The person that walked in (the second time... Didn't say anything the first time they were there, but the second time they brought their phone in video taping). Clearly that person who walking in is mentally unstable... Police had to be called. If you watch the videos on FB... You will understand. The owners here are very nice and down to earth... I've been there many times and have spent $$$ on...
