I scheduled an appointment for a 90-minute massage but the experience was frustrating from the moment I walked in. As soon as I arrived the receptionist asked if I had called ahead and asked if I wanted a 30 or 60 minutes. I told her I booked 90 minutes on the phone and she responded that 90 minutes was "too long." I explained that I had specifically requested 90 minutes when I made the appointment and it was confirmed at the time. But she insisted that I must have spoken to someone else. I said that, regardless of who I spoke my appointment should be honored but she wouldn’t budge.
But what really bothered me was what happened next. Right in the middle of our conversation she started speaking in Mandarin to a male colleague (clearly discussing the situation while I stood there). It felt incredibly rude and dismissive as if I wasn’t even there. At that point I decided to leave.
