Black Cat Books and Oddities is a wonderful store that is every bit as charming as you have heard, and then some. From the Secret Garden to the Phantom Passage to Sherlock Holmes' living room, complete with a closet where all the Banned Books are tucked away to keep them from marauders! The secret password is "I LOVE THIS STORE!" lol With so many books to discover, so many comfy places to sit and peruse the book jackets, and so many fabulous decor features, you will feel right at home. It will be like Edgar Allen Poe is reading over your shoulder. Mwahahahaha! With so many bookstores these days being corporate pitstops where you pick up your paper versions, it's refreshing to go back in time to a bookstore that makes you feel like buying a book is an adventure! A place where you don't just pop in for the new book, you wander around. You explore and discover and pick up gifts for others. Perhaps a book, a deck of tarot cards, a fun piece of jewelry, or a book tote with a great slogan on the front to let everyone know that you are a bookworm - in case it isn't immediately obvious. You will love this bookstore and everything in it. I highly recommend supporting this local seller, because they have certainly put their heart and soul (and possibly a telltale heart?) into this fantastic store.
