I really don't want to be that guy and trash a restaurant, however, the experience here was pretty awful compared to what you'd expect in a basic restaurant experience. I'll explain all the issues and why you should take your money elsewhere.
My girlfriend and I took a day trip to Medina on Good Friday, 4/18/2025. It was a beautiful day to walk around downtown, and after doing so, figured we'd grab some lunch before hitting up the cool alien mini putt that was right nearby. Despite the beautiful day, we opted to sit inside as it was less crowded.
The first sign that things were amiss was the dirty piece of paper they called a draft list. An easily replaceable piece of paper, just recycled over and over again through customers without care, it was so gross. Waitress took menus away after ordering, but not that dirty piece of paper.
The second sign that things were truly off at this restaurant was after my girlfriend ordered her mimosa. There was some piece of lint or something stuck to the side of the glass on the inside. We're not ones to cause a fuss so she was simply going to get it out with her knife. But there was some blue piece of paper literally stuck on her knife. (Really wish we took a picture in hindsight.) When she asked the waitress for a new set of silverware, the waitress acted so inconvenienced by this. Proceeded to have an attitude towards my girlfriend the remainder of our time there by filling up other tables with water but actively avoiding refilling hers for quite some time...but had time to see if I wanted another beer, no thanks.
This really should have been our cue to pay for our drinks and leave and get food elsewhere. But we're here for the first time, giving this place a chance and not causing a fuss, so we continued on.
Ordered the spinach artichoke dip appetizer. And just wow...came out in the actual artichoke, what presentation! That was it. How they do theirs, it doesn't give it that nice, baked presentation you get at other places. How they do theirs, it doesn't give you the nice flavor you get at other places. Didn't stay warm long either, cooled so quickly. And between the dip and the bread they serve with it, what little flavor it does have is immediately met with an overwhelmingly salty aftertaste. Our waitress managed to take away our smaller plates but not the actual plate with the artichoke dip we were clearly done with for the longest time.
As for our entrees, well we really don't understand how this place is rated four stars. She got the smoked turkey sandwich that isn't like what we thought their smoked turkey would be. It was essentially the same kind of smoked turkey deli meat you get behind the counter at the grocery store. No condiments. I tried a piece of bacon and wanted to spit it out. Lackluster fries. Save yourself the money and do what she said, "Make a better turkey sandwich at home."
I had the brisket sandwich. For $19 I was served a sandwich with a bottom bun so soggy, I had to deconstruct the sandwich to eat it. Well, in doing so, I found a nice big piece of fat they tried to hide right in the center of the sandwich. Brisket had no flavor. Thought maybe I was crazy, so I had my girlfriend try a piece and she thought the same thing. No flavor. Very disappointing. Served with stale house chips.
The waitress was surprised when we both declined boxes and had her take back nearly full plates of food. What a waste of food for our money, but it honestly all sucked. An appetizer, two entrees and two drinks and our bill was over $70. Such a waste and a disappointment. I felt a little better when, after we left the restaurant, my girlfriend said she saw another table do the same thing we did: decline boxes and send back full plates of food.
So I implore you to not waste your time or money here as we did, and find another local restaurant to eat at. That's what we will be doing next time as there's plenty to...
Read moreI feel like a “Karen” for this review, but am very disappointed. Save your money and go else where! Like your nearest Farmers Rail, definitely not The Farmers Table. We were there about 1:25 on 4-18-25. We had such high hopes for this restaurant on our day trip to Medina. We were seated almost immediately. It was a gorgeous day so the patio was open. We elected to sit inside because it was “less crowded”. There was no air flow at all inside making it uncomfortable. We got our water about ten minutes after seating, busy day no problem! We could have looked past that. Here’s our issues below. I hope you have a better dining experience. We paid $73 for an appetizer, 2 sandwich entrees and two drinks. The drinks were a pineapple mimosa (free lint) and a draft beer from a dirty draft list. It was paper and easily replaceable. Maybe they’re into planet conservation or something idk. We were polite, quiet and respectful! We did not complain to anyone about anything stated below because we aren't those kind of people. We were ready to leave and weren't interested in $10 knocked off our bill to “make things right” . We already wasted our time.
Where’s the seasoning / flavor?
My knife was dirty, the server was annoyed I asked for a new set. There was something literally stuck in the knife like glued paper? But fossilized. She yanked it out of my hand like I was a kid who got into the kitchen drawer. I got my penicillin! My mimosa was barely chilled and the glass had stuck lint or something inside on the glass. Pried that off with my “new” clean butterknife to pass some time.
Terrible food. Im sorry we just don't understand why this place is rated so high. Maybe we went on an off day, but we wont be back. My boyfriend ordered the brisket sandwich with chips. The brisket was not hot or even warm for that matter. It was over cooked with no flavor aside from the bbq sauce, it melted in your mouth no chewing required when you ate it YUM! The center of his sandwich was all fat. The bottom bun was mush. This puppy sat awhile in the back, it definitely needed the sauce. The chips were stale! They had no salt but that’s okay because the old bread served with our lukewarm appetizer of spinach artichoke dip had our weeks salt intake crusted on. My boyfriend loves salt and even he complained about how salty it was. The presentation of this dish was ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. The dip was coming out of the artichoke. I ordered the smoked turkey with fries. My fries were really dark/ crispy looking but very soft seemed rewarmed? Maybe due to being room temperature too? I don’t know but they were terrible. The sandwich had no condiments on it at all. Dry “smoked turkey sandwich”. The turkey was deli meat, not the smoked turkey I was expecting, especially for the price.
Customer service was lacking! I / we normally don’t complain about this especially when it’s busy. Our water came about ten minutes after seating and wasn't cold. Again our waitress was annoyed I politely brought up my knife was dirty. She then only offered a beer refill to my boyfriend. I barely touched my mimosa, but she brought out a water carafe and filled another tables cups. She then looked over, appeared to walk to our table and set it down on a podium just before our table, basically at my boyfriend’s shoulder behind our table. She would have seen my glass just about empty looking over and walking past our table after setting it down. About 15-20 minutes later I was finally offered a refill after it sat there. I declined. We could have grabbed it but at this point we were ready to go. We figured it was annoyance regarding the knife combined with crowds? Who knows! He got our check and she was astonished we didn’t want to take our food. We were not the only table to leave without eating our food or taking it to go due to...
To all people, stay away! Spend your dollars elsewhere. Spend your time elsewhere and do not support this place.
I pulled up to a full parking lot and was able to get 1 of 3 available spots left on a Thursday night at 7 pm. There was a delicious bbq smell. However, it was coming from the other bbq restaurant down the stairs. We sat outside on the patio due to the fine weather. Throughout the meal, we were interrupted by loud noises coming from the train, motorcycles, and cars with loud exhausts. Which made it difficult to hear the wait staff and my family sitting at the table.
I ordered the aged Ribeye special, loaded chips, and Brussels. With a side salad to substitute the potatoes that come with the steak. Unfortunately, the best part about it was the loaded chips. (Chips were stale) The steak tasted like grease/ butter because they pan-fried and then baked it in the oven. So it cooks in its own fats and soaks up all the fatty/grease taste. The brocolini was pan-fried in butter and oil. Soggy and tasted like butter/oil. The Brussels were also fried in oil/butter. The salad had bad pieces of old soggy lettuce, which should have been addressed before plated. I ordered an Arnold Palmer to drink, I asked if they have sweet tea they could use , and the wait staff said yes. I come to find out they add simple syrup to sweeten it up. Not real sweet tea, which has a different flavor. And i couldn't even taste the lemonade. They brought me another one, and it just tasted like simple syrup. All in all, this meal would have cost $ 130-150 $$$ . When I asked to speak to the manager , I waited at my table for about 10 minutes until I went inside to speak to them.
Apparently, the manager came to my table to ask if she could take some dishes away. Not even introducing herself as the manager and didn't even bring up the issue with the meal as I mentioned to the waitress. , after some discounts, I paid about half for the dishes.
In my line of work, if the customer is unsatisfied with the results, they don't pay until the job is done to their liking. I don't just say I'll discount the rate because I couldn't do a job they hired me to do. They hired me to do a specific job and are expecting that from me. Especially if I charge a premium rate. They should expect nothing less. If i wanted sub-par food, I would've gone to a fast food chain. I went to The Farmer's Table. A highly rated restaurant with premium prices.
Stay away if you're expecting a delicious meal. Granted, they did ask if I wanted to order something else or get dessert, both options I denied. I wasn't going to spend all night trying out every item on the menu until they get it right. All they were trying to do was sell more items.
Again in most cases if your not satisfied with the product you received either you get a full refund or the company selling you the product will automatically fix their mistakes and keep fixing them at their expense until you're satisfied. PLEASE, tell me if im wrong in saying so.
This incident reminds me of the stories I hear about contractors doing a horrible job and ripping off customers, sometimes taking full payment , then you can never find them again. And people are stuck with that horrible job done, or they will pay another contractor to come and fix the mess. But the homeowner ends up paying double for the same job. I wasn't going to pay double.... but I did get ripped off!! Unfortunately, this is the truth, I...
