I want to leave this review not out of spite, but for resolution and transparency. My situation shows how a simple citation spiraled into a chain of systematic failures involving multiple parties: AutoCenters Nissan sold me a vehicle with the contract marked “Sales Tax = N/A.” That made it impossible to register with the DOR/DMV and placed me in non-compliance through no fault of my own. Discounts promised were not applied, service contracts were voided, and the price was inflated. Santander Consumer USA mishandled my account. By their own paperwork, I had a net credit of $4,304.21. Yet interest at 25.62% was stacked on, credits were ignored, and the vehicle was taken. That was not repossession — it was wrongful taking. South County Police (two officers at the stop) did not ask for the actual paperwork required to be in the vehicle. I complied fully, hands on the steering wheel, yet I was cited as if I had refused. The Attorney I Hired failed to raise these points. They did not argue that “Sales Tax = N/A” made registration impossible, nor did they press for discovery of license plate photos or raise the credit evidence from Santander. From the start, I was told $100 would be taken care of out of the $250 fee. Instead, Coast Professionals remained on the account as the collection agency, and that $100 was never resolved. The Court (Case #220481572) proceeded without these facts being raised. Expungement laws exist to wipe cases rooted in systemic failures, yet none of that was pursued. The end result: I lost my vehicle, my credit was damaged, and my confidence in the law was shaken. This was not about expired plates. It was about being trapped in a system where compliance was impossible because of errors by the dealership, the lender, the collection agency, and failures of representation in court. I complied at every step — and still ended up here. There is hope for resolution. This review will change if AutoCenters Nissan, Santander Consumer USA, Coast Professionals, my attorney, and the court acknowledge the failures and correct the record. But until then, I have to warn others: the system as it stands left me punished for problems I...
