I signed up to Club fitness because it is close to my house, and the price is unbeatable. A lot of people I know work out at club fitness so I figured why not? this location is terrible. I know that they are under construction, which is fine. I'm glad they are upgrading it. I was a member here 5 years ago and this location was a joke, so I am happy about that. What I can't stand is the pushiness of the people who work there. The guy who signed me up was okay, but all of a sudden I was sitting down with the director of personal training (You get one free session which is cool, but if asked, I would have passed on it. I'm not cocky, but I've been a member of gyms before and have my own routines already.) So without being able to think about it I was signed up for a session. They don't even give you time to think. I went to the session and the kid I was being trained by started talking about 4 sessions, and 100 bucks and yada yada acting like I was already signed up. When I stopped him to ask he said oh, no this is free but you need to sign up for the 4 session program. I said I'd think about it, and he said I needed to sign up that day. I said Id have to talk to my husband about it because I am not just going to drop 100 bucks right away. He said "Oh, you can call him and if you need to go outside you can." I was floored by how pushy he was being. I said no, Id rather talk to him in person. HE STILL WENT ON TO PUSH THE PROGRAM AT ME. I get it, you have to have sales and clients to make money. I am in sales too. This was absolutely insane. The whole signing up process was extremely pushy and put a horrible taste in my mouth. Then he called me and texted me the next day to ask me again if I was signing up! I am not avoiding this location because I do not want to be badgered anymore. Just let me come and work out in peace! Lay. Off! I'm actually going out of my way tonight to a different location because of my...
Read moreI have been here for over a year now. Prices are good for what they offer, although it's a smaller gym compared to gold's gym, so I tend to go in at later hours. The thing that really bothers me is not be allowed to use the massage chairs unless a staff member is there, which is rare - if management reads this. I pay for the "premium" or premier or whatever you call it for a reason, and I shouldn't need permission to get full advantage of my membership.
UPDATE: So I finally managed to find time to go there while staff is present so I can use the massage chair. The girl turned it on and after ten minutes the machine turned off. I went back to the front desk to find out that you can use it for only ten minutes! So after over a year at this gym I can see that the "amenities" are only there to get you to sign up for their so called "premium" membership, but it really is just a ripoff and no different than the regular $10/month membership, unless you tend to visit other locations, which I assume most people don't. At this point I will try to downgrade my membership or cancel it.
UPDATE: I had canceled my membership when they shut down during Covid while they were still charging me. Recently I went back interested in joining again. I found out that they got rid of their $10/month membership with their cheapest now being at $25/month, and their premium membership around $50/month. Not much seems to have changed besides tripling...
Read moreWe are pretty disappointed by our first experience here. Went to use the hydrotherapy and one of the male employees was in there with a female, either another employee or guest. They were acting kind of off and left when we entered. (Like we interrupted something) Went to use the red light therapy after first checking with the front desk. The door was locked when I went to use my turn. Front desk staff came to see who was in it and open it. She knocked on the door and the same male employee and girl from the hydrotherapy room were in there together. My significant other and I had waited in the hall and we watched them come out one after the other looking pretty embarrassed. Seemed like they were waiting for us to be gone until they decided to come out. So that definitely made us decide to skip our turns using the red light therapy and leave the gym. Filed a report with corporate through emails and phone call. Hope that management here addresses whatever is going on with their staff screwing each other, or guests in the amenities. Hopefully that somehow was not the case. Pretty disgusting. Also of course decided not to get smoothies because of that experience. No thanks on that after doing whatever it was they were doing. It says that they are recording in the hall so they should be able to see who was working this evening and going...
