To be perfectly honest, my review is not contemporaneous with these other reviewers. It has been a number of years, and Angela's very well could have been a "different" business, going through a different/difficult financial time. Nevertheless, what happened to me was borderline criminally dishonest, so I will share my experience. My mother always taught me, you see a man's true character not when he's doing well financially, but how honest he is when he's not doing well. Well, this was my experience with this store.
This was literally over ten years ago and there was no online review forum as exists now. I bought an entire livingroom including couch, chaise, loveseat, table, and lamps. The total price was $3,000+ with delivery. When the items were delivered, I noticed there was no plastic covering the pillows or couches or anything. Obviously, I have ordered new furniture in the past and they always have plastic coverings. The delivery men said that they must have been removed at the store. That made absolutely no sense, particularly in the unpredictable rainy season of Florida. Anyway, about 2 days later, I sat down on the chaise and noticed it had almost no support... as if it had been worn out. I called and was assured that I received brand new items. Just for my own curiosity, I went down to the store the following day... sure enough, the "floor model" of my set was missing. I asked kindly where it was. The woman (not sure if she was "Angela" or not) became irate and sternly said that I did not receive the floor model and acted absolutely aghast that I would even accuse her of doing exactly what she did. Clearly, I had received the used, sat-upon, worn-in floor model, but how could I prove it? I wasn't about to file a lawsuit over it. My husband opened it up and did some adjustments to the bottom to strengthen the base of the chaise, but it was obvious the fabric was slightly worn.
Anyway, like I said, it's been a decade and hopefully, this business has improved its practices. I'm not holding a grudge over the fraud of paying full price for a used floor model; however, now that this online feedback forum exists, I thought I'd let everyone know about my experience. I know there are many dishonest businesses out there, but fortunately, I've only had the displeasure of dealing with this one. There are so many more furniture shopping options now. My advice is to choose...
Read moreAngela’s has the most wonderful selection of coastal unique furniture in this area!! The big box stores can’t complete with the quality, one of a kind artisan inventory or the absolutely wonderful service! This business is still family owned & her son Billy (Angela’s son )is the kindest, patient, most sincere & wonderful fella to work with! I’m sure Tommy (his brother) is the same way but I’ve not had the pleasure of dealing with him quite yet! They are so honest & down to earth they’ve even referred me to another larger furniture store to make sure I was certain about my choices from them! Who looks out for the consumer & does that kind of honest respectful business anymore?!! Luckily for me I’ll never regret my large purchases at Angela’s because the competition couldn’t compare to their unique quality inventory let alone their amazing prices!! If your looking for QUALITY ONE of a KIND (coastal especially) furnishings, Angelas is second to NONE in inventory, pricing & impeccable service! Again due to THEIR honest business practices, I’ll never regret my purchases!! Billy is the BEST!! Hope to meet his mom Angela one day since she still frequently comes in! 🥰 Support & check out local established businesses like ANGELA’S! You’ll be doing yourself a...
Read moreThis furniture store is the worst furniture store I've ever walked into! I visited the store because I was interested in getting pricing for several items in the magnussen collection that I located online. the manufacturer listed angela's as a local seller. When I walked in I knew I was in trouble. Not only was the place filthy, but the salesman was insulting. He refused to offer me pricing and accused me of lying when i said that I intended to purchase 30k in furniture. The store is in the dark ages .... they don't even have a computer or an email account set up to communicate with customers. I priced several magnussen items the salesman had in the store with other local competitors and he was overpriced. I could only imagine how much trouble I would had been in if I ordered furniture though angela's. I would probably be waiting forever to receive it from this guy. I have gone to this store several times in the past thinking I'd be able to get a deal. Everytime I walked in they never had a single customer. Now I know why. Save yourself the time and shop for furniture someplace else instead. Angela's...
