PLEASE DO NOT DONATE TO THIS STORE!!! I hate leaving a bad review but in this case I feel people should know about our experience. I had some items I wanted to donate (i.e. household and clothing in excellent condition). My son offered to drop them off at Nana's Thrift Store during the week when he got out of work. He was turned away and told they only accept donations until 2pm, it was past that hour. In the meantime, I called the store just to make sure we knew what days and exact hours donations are accepted. I got an answering machine and left my call back number but no one returned my call. So, my son made a second attempt on a Saturday afternoon before 2pm. Once again he was turned away by "Cheryl" who said they were not accepting ANY donations because she was the only person working and could not receive donations at the side door. He offered to carry the bags of items into the store but was still turned away. Not only was it a waste of time but a waste of gas as we live across town. I called the store and spoke to Cheryl. I suggested they leave an outgoing phone message to let people know they are not taking donations. She simply didn't care! My family will not be supporting this store...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI really enjoy shopping here, and I come here a few times a week, but some of the women that work at the front counter are pretty rude. One day I heard them trash, talking, my tattoos, and when I enter the store, certain ones will not say hi or thank you for your purchase and for some reason they always ask for my ID even though I come there multiple times a week, and, people in front of me have paid with a debit card the women didnāt ask for the person in front of me ID . Iād definitely consider that discrimination . So yes, Nanaās house is a great place to shop because the proceeds goes to a great cause but some of the women at the front counter are pretty judgmental, and should probably watch what they say to each other while customers are in there especially if theyāre gonna talk trash about people who are coming in there multiple times a week, spending their harder money. Unfortunately, I donāt know their names because theyāve never even spoken to my face theyāve only made snarky remarks...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMaybe I just went on the wrong day... but I didn't see the good prices everyone is talking about. The place is clean, the people who work there seem nice, things are organized- but I would not call this a "thrift" store. It's more a high end antique/furniture "boutique". For example- I saw a bedroom set there yesterday priced at... wait for it... $1500. Seriously? For that kind of money you can go to Macy's. And buy it NEW. Every piece of furniture I looked at was WAY more than I was able to spend. This stuff is donated. Thrift stores are just getting greedy, in general, when pricing stuff they get for FREE. Just saying... So if you ride around in a Lexus and have wads of cash, then this place is for you. But if you're on a tight budget and are just looking for some halfway decent furniture that is affordable-...
