On Sunday 30/30/2025 I went into Kroger located at 1212 Shelby to retrieve my items for the week, I spent about an hour in the store, once I finished I went to the uscan line closest to the pharmacy, the young lady working that area has to be most uncouth, unprofessional unknowledgeable disrespectful all across the board ill mannered, she's standing there at her area chatting very loudly with the security person to who is just as simple minded as she is in his uniform with reebok flip flops on with his hands inside of his protective gear both unbothered about anything other than what they are speaking about . I then waved my hand to get her attention to scan my ID so that I can complete my purchase, she finally sloughy walks over, I then asked her why didn't my clipped coupons come off as I was scanning she states that she didn't know she never knew and I would have to go to customer care, I then ask was anyone over clearly one could see that it was not she then states she's gone to lunch I LEFT MY PURCHASE AT THIS POINT because REALLY??? showed effort to assist with anything I mean nothing it's horrible
As a resident of Whitehaven I shouldn't have to travel to another state or one hour outside my area of shopping to be treated with respect, this Kroger unfortunately need a major rehab, the deli s NEVER open the bakery is awful it's never fresh, the produce is always wilted the dairy area is always in a disarray the pork is now with the seafood which is cross contamination the chiller where the pork is store is ALWAYS dirty and the team members are rude as hell
I'm curious? Who is the General Manager of this store,? Who are the Mangers of this store? Are there manager's at this store? They never seem to be around or at least that's what the team members are saying it's quite embarrassing to know that this is what a chain as large at Kroger has come to everyone there need to be terminated, train a new team of staff, hire a real security person not one who walks around in flip flops, hire people to stock and a cleaning crew, hire a butcher old these accountable for the positions if they don't like it great we'll find someone who does I mean this is ridiculous
Horrid customer Service absolutely horrid tried to contact on 3/31/2025 of no answer I guess I'll have to continue to go out of state or drive an hour away to shop at another location Kroger when it's one located not ten minutes from my home whom cares absolutely noting about our community This store gets 1 star only because I have to leave something in order to post

I asked what was the managers name because the young lady who answered was asking who was like who is this and to call back in 5mins.The manager name is William I was told. I was in self check out on the far right last register the lady before me was ringing up her stuff bagged her stuff and didn't pay for it . The light brown skinned lady tall that worked the area had a low blonde ball cut with a cap on with a pink sweat shirt with a butterfly on it. Allowed the lady at the register before me with the Louis Vuitton mask and cap with gray on bring the stuff up already bagged she waited up front with her basket and she asked the lady do she need a receipt the lady said no just go so the lady walked out and I'm guessing she's going to bring the stuff out to her knowing darn well she hadn't payed for nothing she was so scared she left her kool-aid packets at the register the screen showed her stuff wasn't payed for. She also was possibly letting a dude get stuff too that was across from me he handed her something. This is so wrong I waited around to see if the lady was gong to return to pay for her items she did not. I called back several times No...
Read moreOk, unless a company strictly states per policy, and has it posted visibly for customers to see, they cannot legally force you to stop and have your receipts checked unless they believe you are shoplifting.
I’ve shopped at Krogers in Germantown, Collierville, Horn Lake, etc and this is the only Kroger (not a coincidence that this Kroger is in a predominantly black city/area), that asks to see your receipt. It is ONLY at this Kroger.
This is obviously racial discrimination. To each their own, but why would you want to shop somewhere that, on top of never having adequate staff, ridiculously long lines, and regularly empty shelves, wants to insult you and accuse you of stealing every time you shop?
If this was a Kroger policy, like Sam’s Club or Costco who has it stated visibly that you, as a customer, consent to having your receipt checked following purchase, that would be different. But, again, this is the ONLY Kroger I have ever known to check receipts.
