Memphis International Airport is a well-organized and efficient airport that provides travelers with a smooth and hassle-free experience. As a frequent flyer, I have had the opportunity to visit numerous airports, but Memphis International stands out for its user-friendly layout, excellent amenities, and friendly staff.
One of the most notable aspects of this airport is its easy-to-navigate design. Signage is clear and abundant, guiding passengers through check-in, security, and to their gates with ease. The airport's size is manageable, ensuring minimal walking distances between terminals and facilities, which is especially appreciated during tight layovers.
Security procedures are streamlined, and the staff is professional and courteous, contributing to a stress-free journey through the airport. Additionally, the airport consistently scores well for its on-time performance, making it a reliable choice for connecting flights or time-sensitive trips.
The amenities offered at Memphis International Airport are diverse and cater to various traveler needs. There is a wide selection of dining options, ranging from quick bites to sit-down restaurants, providing travelers with plenty of choices to satisfy their cravings. The shopping options are equally impressive, with a mix of retail stores offering everything from souvenirs to luxury goods.
The airport's free Wi-Fi and ample charging stations make it easy for passengers to stay connected and charge their devices before or between flights. The comfortable seating areas provide a respite for weary travelers, allowing them to relax and recharge during their layovers.
The airport's cleanliness and overall upkeep are commendable, creating a pleasant and inviting atmosphere for travelers. The restrooms are well-maintained, and the airport staff ensures that the facilities are clean and tidy throughout the day.
Another highlight of Memphis International Airport is its accessibility and transportation options. It is well-connected to the city and surrounding areas through various ground transportation services, making it convenient for both local and international travelers.
In conclusion, Memphis International Airport provides a positive and efficient travel experience. Its well-organized layout, excellent amenities, and friendly staff make it an excellent choice for any traveler passing through. Whether you're a frequent flyer or visiting for the first time, this airport is sure to leave a lasting impression with its commitment to passenger comfort and...

Previous review: Let me start by saying do your homework so you can challenge the folks at the checkin counter. During these COVID times entry requirements abroad are constantly changing. This review is with respect to AA in particular on this trip. AA’s website is not in the least bit accurate, even though they told me they update it every day. Their website didn't reflect the latest changes to the entry requirement of the country we were traveling to (more than two months old), nor did it list any of the exceptions to country’s covid testing rules. Really horrible because we fell into these exceptions. Check-in counter was like nope we go by the AA website. I have written to AA before our flight to try and get them to update and correct their website. They did eventually but they were slow at doing so. So if at all possible try to contact them (by email is the what I did) well before your flight so you won’t have to argue with the check-in counter and risk missing your flight. Dreadful experience. Reasoning with them is so difficult. They actually calculated the timeframe wrong for which we needed to take our covid test to board. They said it was too early. Reasoning with them was really taxing. A whole lot of “nuh uh” and “no”. Also your bags need to be exactly 50 lbs internationally. They’re super strict and made us shuffle things from one bag to another because we were slightly over on one bag (even though a couple other bags we had were both only 30 lbs). Also if you’re thinking about connecting to either Dallas or Chicago, I’d choose Dallas next time. Chicago has a lot of delays and cancellations due to thunderstorms in the summer. Also if you’re traveling internationally you must leave the domestic terminals and shuttle to the international terminal and go through security again (air side transport not working these days) and possibly checkin again and get boarding passes (if your connection is longer than 4 hours) which is a big hassle. We had to do that even though AA was code share partners with the international airlines that we had booked our entire trip through. When we went through Dallas we didn’t have to do all that. But they did check our bags all the way through to our final destination which was good because shlepping that to the international terminal would’ve been a...
Read moreThis was the most bizarre and unenjoyable airport experiences I’ve ever had in my life. My daughter and I had a layover into this airport. Our flight landed at midnight. Our next flight was scheduled for 5am. All was fine with the flight. But we get to our gate expecting to sit there and wait until our flight much later. However security came to tell us that the airport was CLOSED and that we would have to go to “a different part of the building”.. they tell us that we have to go sit at baggage claim until 3am…the security tells us there’s no restaurants or even stores in this part of the building… but yet we are required, as active travelers, to sit here for 3 hours…then go back through TSA and get scanned again!!!!!! We complied by their bizarre rules. TSA wasn’t nice. My daughter got held up behind me because she had water (since she was already past security earlier and wasn’t expecting to have to discard it) I told TSA if I can get closer to the front to see what was the hold up with my daughter, who is a minor. They told me I couldn’t. SMH. We finally get through and no stores are open until 4:30am?! Not one coffee kiosk, not one newspaper stand.. I understand that business is probably slow but I’ll usually see one newspaper place open to get essential items, especially if you’re expecting a wave of travelers!! I chose not to leave the airport cuz the woman who sat next to me on the plane said the area is really sketchy. So now I’ll be cutting it too close to get any food since my flight boards at 5. And in theory I could’ve eaten earlier except the whole airport was closed to the public and they didn’t think to put any vendors in the other parts of the building to accommodate their very weird rules. We are very hungry and very tired.
All of that said, the place is really clean and there are good outlets to plug in. Also the bathroom sinks were...
