We ordered on their website. It wasn't ready on time, and one of the staff insinuated that we made it hard on them even though they messed up in the first place.
My mother-in-law ordered many pastries for the morning of my baby shower via their website. I arrived to pick them up in the alloted time slot with a printout of the online receipt, and they weren't ready.
Fine, okay. I'm a patient person, and I've worked fast-paced customer facing positions before. It happens. So I wait, and the person leading the pick-up orders asks around to go get our order, and it's nowhere to be found.
They look over the printout, over and over, talk amongst themselves but haven't asked me a single question or address me after the initial interaction.
It's obvious our order fell through the cracks.
They eventually start to put it together. I wait nearby, watching others come up and have similar issues. Their just backed up on orders, so people are waiting longer than expected.
Finally, after a short but tense 30 min wait (for something that was pre-ordered, paid for, and given a pick up time the day before), the person operating pick up looks at me and goes,
"You Uber Eats?"
I said, "No, just here picking up."
He says, "A personal order, huh?"
"Yes," I reply.
He nods, looks at me briefly, points to the receipt while he packs my late order, and says, "Yeah, this was confusing for us..."
I don't say anything because I'm trying to figure out how giving someone money for a good/service on their own website and then showing them a reciept of purchase in the time window they alloted is confusing.
He finishes packing up my order and says, "Here you go."
I take the bag offered and say, "Thank you, have a great day," as I turn to leave.
He...
Read moreHonestly our group of 4 people didn't get why this place is hyped. We've been there last week for brunch on Saturday and it was pretty crowded. We've ordered Croissant Bededict and it was less than mediocre, for $18,60 it could taste much better. We've also ordered almond croissant that had chocolate inside and i believe marzipan - they were good so 2 stars for it! However their "L'irresistible" dessert was almost tasteless and it didn't impress our group. With that being said coffee was cold - we had flat white, cappuccino and the cups needed to be changed since they were visibly overused ( their restaurant name were partially erased from cup signature and part of the cup was broken) so it wasn't even esthetically pleasing to drink that cold coffee from that cup. For L'irresistible dessert waiter didn't bring us any cutlery and after we asked for it - they brought us a plastic spoons)))) not quite fancy. I would like to maybe give them another chance because I was recommended this place and as I see people are leaving some good reviews for them. For 1st impression it is VERY overpriced for all those items that we ordered we ONLY...
Read moreAs a long-time customer of Mademoiselle Colette since it first opened in Menlo Park, we have been loyal fans. When the time had come for a wedding celebration, we definitely wanted them to cater the brunch and also to provide (multiple) wedding cakes.
In the time leading up to the event, the catering team had been prompt in response and also very helpful in suggesting a menu based on the number of guests. Upon brainstorming for the cake flavor(s), the catering team provided very thoughtful feedback on what can realistically be delivered intact after a long delivery ride. They showed their professionalism throughout the entire process and made us reassured of their preparations for the event.
As for the delivered food itself, it was, as expected, delicious, as always. Many of the guests raved about it, even my food-connoisseur-restauranteur family. We will continue to frequent Mademoiselle Colette as they are the best, authentic French bakery in town (perhaps even the state/country outside of France). Highly...
