I got new ski boots (Dalbella Venom 90) a couple of seasons ago at the āold Whitefish Bay locationā. Great boots; but had several hot spots/fit issues that you typically find with new boots . More so, have a volunteer clinic that will keep me in my boots for 16 hours over the weekend and due to medical issues, edema (swelling); my feet/ankles/calves are at the point my boots didnāt fit. I decided to stop by Les Moise this evening with every intention of replacing the Dalbellas as I never spent the time to follow up with a fitting in the first place when I originally purchased them.
After trying on several pair(s) the guy I was working with (kicking myself that I canāt name him and give the credit he deserves) talked me into bringing in the boots from the car to see if he could do anythingā¦?
Over an hour and half period, there must have been at least 10 different adjustments done. From heating the liners to accelerate packing, grinding the toe box for length/width adjustment, moving the buckle ladders/moving them back, adding a back foot shim to adjust uneven leg lengths, another set of shims to adjust heel position based on desired performance, removing the spoiler, adjust canting and a adding an low volume foot bed that cost $42.10 (I asked to purchase a more expensive foot bed and was advised that the product he recommended would work just fine).
Evidently, the boot fit policy is that Les Moise will guarantee that your ski boots will fit. My total spend was the cost of the foot beds. Needless to say the boot fit is unbelievably comfortable and cannot wait to experience the performance difference. Also, while all this was transpiring, three other customers were also being treated in the same fashion. Consequently, the service that was rendered to me must be the norm ā not the exception....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWent to have my son fitted for snowboard boots. Was told no one for snowboarding would be in until later. Ok. Then if someone could just bring me two sizes I will have my son try them on. You could tell the guy was just inconvenienced right out of the gate. His demeanor was just a huge issue for me. He started the conversation by asking if I bought their boards from them. ??? I donāt know why that mattersā¦Im here to buy boots and pick up my board.
My board was supposed to have a binding fixed and get waxed/tuned. Not only was the binding not touched when the work order stated it clear as day but the wax/tune job was awful. Chunky all over and none on the nose or tail. They also didnāt touch the corners and just left them and most of the edge rusty. (No pitting) So they obviously didnāt bother to use a simple gummy stone. The job was just awful, should have done it myself.
I called back and was given the same excuse every other bad place gives now. We are short staffedā¦well short staffed isnāt my issue nor is it an excuse to be rude.
Obviously didnāt buy the two pairs of boots I needed for my twin boys. Wish I could return the $1300+ dollars in clothing I bought last week but thats just an even bigger inconvenience for xmas shopping.
Wont...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI recently purchased ski boots from Les Moise. I was very impressed by the knowledge and service of the of the staff. They took the time to make sure I was fitted correctly despite being busy. Their ski boots aren't cheap, but rather buy online for a cheaper price, I wanted to give them my support because of their level of expertise and customer service.
After buying the ski boots, I brought my skis in the next day. I was under the impression during the fitting that they would adjust my ski bindings this year for free (anything after this year would require an additional cost which makes sense). However, when we brought my skis in, they wanted to charge us another $25 for this service.
I get it, they need to make money...but honestly at the end of the day you were about to have a customer for life and now I'm honestly upset that after spending almost $500 in your store you couldn't make a complimentary adjustment.
I will not be returning to Les Moise and will be finding another local shop that values...
