I've been going here since I moved to Wisconsin 9 months ago and was trying to find a good place for a hair cut. One of my friends recommended Alex saying she did a good job and that was probably an understatement.

I'm having a difficult time coming up with an elegant way to write this review, so I apologize ahead of time if this is a bit crude. Alex is more than capable of looking at a picture on your phone and giving you a haircut like that one. That's a feat in itself, but that's not why I drive 25 miles each way in Milwaukee traffic.

Alex actually listens to your concerns and offers her own opinion instead of just doing what you request. She has no issues talking you down from changing up your haircut that she knows you've been working on for months and her confidence is appreciated. I feel like I'm working with Alex as opposed to just telling her how I want my hair to look.

If you know what kind of hairstyle you are going for, then go to Alex. If you have no idea what you want done with your hair, go to Alex, she has enough confidence to make recommendations and enough skill to make it look amazing.

It's a nice place and everyone was very friendly. I have gotten color here and it turned out good and I have seen other coloring they have done and it always look nice. My 3 stars is because I was very unhappy with my last haircut. I was going to one stylist who did a good job but then she left and I decided to try someone else. The new stylists haircuts were $14 more than what I had been paying. I did not mind this. I figured higher price means more experience. I was wrong. I showed a picture of basic layered cut. She did my entire head of layers using point cutting and razoring with her shears. An experienced stylist would know these are not techniques you use on every type of hair or every style. My hair was left looking frayed and frizzy. I get irritated every time I look at it. $55 is too much to pay for someone to do such a bad job. And I didn't even get the cut I asked for. I would rate less stars it's just that I'm sure this stylist is good at other things. I am just disappointed. Only way to fix this is cut my hair shorter. Higher price should mean more expertise and stylist should be able to cut different...
