We moved my mom to room 115 after lots of tears and trusting Vineyard Park on 9/27/24. She was assessed in person by Shannon and Edzel and we were assured that my mom will be in great hands. We were transparent about mom’s situation and handed them every paper and document they asked us. In less than a few days we noticed a huge lack of assistance for mom and started communicating her needs to the nurse and the caregivers assuming that they would understand. These issues included not showering her, not helping her brush her teeth and leaving het in her bedroom on wheelchair without transferring her to her bed! Unfortunately, not only they refused to have any progress in help and taking necessary actions, but they blamed us for visiting my mom and said usually families bring their mom here and we won’t see them in 9months! And on 10/6/24 a “Liz” the new nurse that was just hired called me at 8:18pm and told me my mom is transferred to hospital and they might not be able to take her back! The day after she called me at 12:03pm and told me they will not take her back and we have to find another place for her. The social worker from hospital called and said her manager is angry as they believe this patient (my mom) was dumped in the hospital! It crashed my heart and now we have no help and desperately looking for another place! Aaron, the executive director of Vineyard Park called me on Monday and said he really cares about my mom and sent me another facility Covenant Living Shores on Island that I could take my mom to. He insisted that he has strong connections with them and they can provide the care she needs and they have an availability! Later that day, we visited that place and found out that none of his statements were true. I have a screenshot of my email attached to Aaron talking about my frustration! He also told hospital that he is helping us find a place so that they stop pushing on them! And after that they did not respond to us! I tried calling and texting Shannon and she NEVER got back to me! And here we are! My mom is in hospital while they have a room that is being paid everyday by MEDICAID! How is this fair?????

My family recently made the difficult decision to move my mother into Vineyard Assisted Living, and I want to share our experience to help others avoid what we went through. When we first visited, we were welcomed by Shannon, the marketing manager, who was warm, energetic, and made several promises about the high level of care they would provide for our mom. She assured us that the staff would go above and beyond to take care of our beloved one. After an assessment by their head nurse, they confirmed that they could meet my mom’s medical needs, which gave us peace of mind. However, less than two weeks later, everything changed drastically. Without any warning or prior notice, Vineyard replaced their nursing team. Liz, the new nurse, called us while we were at work with shocking news: "We sent your mom to the hospital, and we can’t take her back. You need to find a new place for her." This was incredibly alarming and distressing, especially since all of her belongings were still in her room. When we tried to contact their management "Aaron and Shannon", who initially made all those promises, they all disappeared. No one responded to us, and we were left feeling abandoned when we needed their support the most. They wouldn’t even let us bring my mom back to her room until we found another facility for her, which added even more stress to an already terrible situation. To make matters worse, the hospital later informed us that what Vineyard did is known as "patient dumping" — an illegal practice in Washington State. It’s heartbreaking to see such a lack of care for the elderly, especially for someone as vulnerable as my mom. She was confused and scared, and we were left scrambling to find a new facility for her, with no support from Vineyard. I am currently taking legal action and speaking with adult protective services to ensure no one else has to endure this kind of treatment. I strongly advise anyone considering Vineyard Assisted Living to think twice before trusting them with the care of their loved ones. No family should have to go through this heart-wrenching experience.

Every morning, you wake up my entire family with different loud noises. These days, it’s the metal ladder! Stop making so much noise! The metal ladder, which a man climbs up and down starting at 7 AM, creaks and rattles every second. It’s extremely disturbing and makes it impossible to sleep. Please do something about it!!

It was difficult committing my sweetheart of 35 years to a memory care facility, but after a short transition period, I realized it was the best choice for everyone. My sweetheart had primary progressive aphasia that had robbed her of her voice and comprehension, but the staff at the Vineyard Park treated her wonderfully. They showed patience, compassion and a loving attitude toward her. The meals were nutrtitionally prepared and adapted to her eating style. The facility was clean, and the staff was joyful. Feedback from nurses and people that I met while there confirmed that The Vineyard Park was one of the best and most caring facilities that they had experienced. Even when the end of life came, the staff knew what to do and who to call, and yet were emotionally sad to say goodbye. They cared a lot.

I would sincerely recommend the Vineyard Park of Mercer Island if you are looking for a new and secure home for your loved one that you can no longer care for. The setting is pleasant on Mercer Island in a quiet neighborhood that is close to parks and shopping. I am sincerely grateful that the universe allowed me to find such a caring group of individuals who treated my dear with such kindness...
