BUYER BEWARE! FALSE ADVERTISING Today I placed an order for the infamous hot roasted chicken! Along with other items totalling $100. The shopper tells me “they are out of stock”. The hot roasted chicken?! Nah… not gonna believe that so I call. The employee who answers my call confirms they have the hot roasted chicken in stock! Guess what? They don’t have it available for purchase. The entire area it’s cooked in is under construction… so rather than saying that? Costco lied. Stand up and take a bow Costco! You can’t simply state that? Wow…. FALSE ADVERTISING ….
UPDATE! My neighbor bought a bag of potatoes on Saturday and today…3 days later…. The potatoes are ROTTEN!
CONSUMER ALERT!
@costco you would do well to remember why your company exists.
That would be US the consumer. Without US you cease to exist.
We even AGREED TO PAY YOU, to shop with OUR MONEY, in your establishment with said card.
Today, I showed my card at the entrance.
I put items in my cart. As I approached the SELF CHECKOUT, your employee approached me and asked me to show him the PICTURE on my card.
This is now beginning to come across to me , as the consumer, an unspoken accusation.
I showed my card a SECOND TIME.
I then SCANNED THE SAME CARD, to begin scanning my items so I could pay for my items in my cart.
2 flats of Diet Coke. 2 Roasted Chicken Packages, 2 Bags of Frozen Cauliflower, 1 Kirkland Master Carve Ham.
That’s it. Nothing that could come even close to suspect. 7 items.
Before I could begin scanning anything a THIRD employee approaches and says can I scan your items for you?
Sure I said. She didn’t.
She scanned SOME of them then muttered what she had scanned and began to walk away.
I said, WAIT! You didn’t scan everything?! Now I have a few others attention.
She replied no and repeated what she had scanned and walked away….. 7 items Costco. 7.
And your FOURTH EMPLOYEE, skulks from around the corner and I looked her straight in the eye and said WOW sure hope I GET EVERYTHING RUNG UP SHE COULD NOT FINISH!
THAT EMPLOYEE? She literally began glaring at the screen to see if all 7 items were showing.
As I paid for my 7 ITEMS and walked to the exit, guess what Costco?
Your FIFTH EMPLOYEE reviewed my receipt.
Now here is my feedback to you and your RIDICULOUS ANTICS. …
you will NEVER EVER See me or my money in your stores EVER AGAIN.
Your employees behavior towards myself and others was HARASSMENT.
Yes, EVERYONE in the self serve checkout was getting the very same harassment by employees.
For any place of business to think THIS is an acceptable way to remain in business you are DEAD WRONG.
That employee at the front door?
That should be the one and only time I show my card.
Period.
Oh and FYI… you don’t need a human to do that.
Any simple software program can handle a scanned card.
Harassment defined: “aggressive pressure or intimidation”.
To the billions of people out their in cyberspace viewing this…. Costco has exceeded their welcome in the...
Read moreUpdate: Came here this morning because I was foolish enough to sit on my spectacles and needed to see if they could be repaired (I purchase my glasses from Costco optical). First of all, I LOVE that Executive members can go from 9-10 am weekdays before the rush starts. Second, I never have to wait to get gas, as long as I'm willing to use the pump on the opposite side of my gas door.
There was one member at the optical desk being helped by a female employee. I was fortunate enough to be helped by Sergey, a licensed optician (I didn't know that Costco employed opticians). He knew just what to do and took my bent frames with the lens popped out and put it all together to make my glasses as good as new. Thank you Sergey!!!
Overall, I love my Costco, and in the nearly year and a half since we moved to Idaho, and a year or more after my last review, I have had very good experiences. One last example: the woman helping us to return some items later in the day (yes, I went to Costco twice in a day) was VERY nice.
Previous: We just moved from CA to Star. Let me just say that I'm a huge Costco fan. I tell my wife that it's the happiest place on earth, and we used to live 20 minutes from Disneyland.
We came today to order a washer and dryer. Our new home turned out not to be plumbed for our gas dryer, and we figured that we might as well buy a matching set. We had ordered a top loading Whirlpool washer and front loading dryer from Home Depot a few days ago, slated to be delivered in about three days. Today, they notified us that instead of a 6/14 delivery date, it would now be 7/27. A dealbreaker, for sure.
We started out well. Michael was helping us in the appliance section. He got us online and showed us how to order. He stayed with us but at one point he took off. We continued on and seemed to about ready to purchase, when the website said one of our items was not in stock. This was the gray color of the Whirlpool models we wanted. We then tried to switch to white. We were about to purchase--again--when Costco booted us off the site. We had to start all over. During this time we had Costco concierge on the phone and the woman was very patient. However, we ran into one problem after another. Finally, we realized that we needed to update our delivery and billing address to our new home. Once we did, we were successful in completing our order. Delivery is this Saturday, and we got a great deal. Costco's return policy gives us plenty of confidence and security, and we did purchase an extended warranty. Ultimately, we bought front loading machines with extended warranties. Usually, I love my Costco experience. This time,...
Read moreI haven’t had any sort of issue with any Costco store I’ve been to, their prices are great and their selection is huge. But THIS particular Costco may have cost ALL Costcos our business.
I was over there today getting two items: tortilla chips and flour. I went over to the self checkout and two employees flocked over to help. Always appreciated, don’t mind that effort…but things changed once they saw the membership card I was using, which is, in fact, my WIFE’S membership card. Their attitudes took a 180 real quick and they began giving me the third degree about how this wasn’t my membership, my wife had to be there for it to be used, membership privileges are non-transferrable, yadda yadda yadda. In the end, they allowed me to make my purchase since it was so small, but next time I come there, I have to bring my wife.
I understand this. I appreciate this. I would have even accepted this if it wasn’t for the fact that I HAVE SHOPPED COSTCO UNDER MY WIFE’S NAME NUMEROUS TIMES BEFORE WITH ZERO INCIDENT.
Let me explain something: my wife is a retired Navy veteran. I am not only her husband, but her caretaker, so it is basically my job to do the things she cannot do 90% of the time. Drive her to appointments, make phone calls, GET GROCERIES when she is not feeling well enough to leave the house! So excuse me if my name and picture isn’t on the card, I’M NOT THE VETERAN. And what if she was sick, huh? What if she had COVID, us living in a pandemic nowadays. You still want me to bring her in then?
Bring my wife next time, are you kidding me? What makes you think there’s going to BE a next time? After this shoddy treatment, it’s going to be a long, LONG time before this or ANY other Costco gets our...
