Pineland Telephone Co-Op Inc — Local services in Metter

I hate to say this but this company is a rip off. I’ve been with them for about 3 years now and they have good customer service (promptly answer phones, will help with problems etc) and very rarely have outages other than planned down time that they notify people about. But they try and charge 300 dollars for a gig internet connection. Other companies will offer this for 80-100 dollars in certain areas. There is no difference in fiber optic line or anything, they simply bump up the data traveling through the line to your house. If they are the only service in your area like they are mine then you may have to suffer through it. But if there is another company that offers higher speeds at lower prices (doesn’t try to price gouge every cent out of the customer) then I would strongly suggest trying them out before going...

So the account is in my roommates name but I pay the internet portion and he pays tv, pineland has a odd way of treating customers who pay for a service, I get it your company try’s to save money by trouble shooting over the phone cool, but when I tell your rep that hard wired is not the issue it’s the wireless connections. Yes I understand that wireless isn’t the most reliable but if I’m pay for your 100meg every month on top of that your commercial router and I’ve spent hundreds on other routers bc that what you say is the issue bc the nighthawk router is not good? Or the vellop mesh routers aren’t good fine but if your top of the line router is no good and you said it would work you need to fix it, thanks or bbb would be happy to...

Both ladies in the Swainsboro office were very nice and informative when I inquired about new service and when beginning the service. I was a little disappointed in the wait time from application to installation but we were not in a hurry after 5 years of not having internet and cable service we could wait a few more days. Price is comparable. The internet service is great, very fast. Especially considering we are in a very rural area.
