I had a very disappointing experience during my first visit to this shop, where I was excited to get my son’s first haircut. I had been referred here specifically because they were said to be good with children.
My boyfriend went first to get his hair done, and my toddler remained calm for about five minutes before becoming a bit restless. To keep him entertained, I took him to the breaker area, where there were stickers. However, I was unsure if I was allowed to be back there, so I quickly stepped away after noticing a sticker similar to one I wanted to take a picture of outside in one of the booths. While holding my son and ensuring he didn’t wander, I reached for my purse to get my phone. In that brief moment, my son accidentally touched a brush with hair dye.
Immediately, a male employee in the next booth rudely told me to leave. I apologized and explained that I hadn’t intended to be behind the booth; I simply wanted to take a picture of a sticker on the hand sanitizer. Despite my explanation, he insisted again, in an unprofessional manner, that I leave. This interaction left me feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome, especially as I was with a toddler.
I was under the impression that this shop was known for being great with children, but the attitude of the staff suggested otherwise. From the moment I walked in, I felt like we were viewed as a burden rather than valued customers. This experience completely ruined what was supposed to be a special moment for me and my son. I ultimately decided not to proceed with his haircut, as I refuse to spend my hard-earned money at a place where I feel like an inconvenience rather than a customer.
I sincerely hope the business improves its communication and customer service. Everyone has their own challenges, but it is unprofessional to take frustrations out...
Read moreConsistently (4 years and counting) excellent place to get a haircut, whether a basic men's cut, a fade or anything in between. My usual is the 1 1/2" on the top, and 1" on the sides. "Pops" is my usual barber, but I've gotten my hair cut with a few other barbers and all do a 5-star job. I've also gotten a beard trim with similarly great results. The soundtrack is vintage hip hop and R&B,. and the shop floor is always clean. Hugo ("Juice") the owner runs a tight ship, and cuts anyone from celebrities to regular clients. The wait for a cut is reasonable, and they have a vending machine should you get hungry. It's located right off NW 57th Avenue just off the Palmetto in a strip mall with plenty of parking....
Read morebad customer service; I went in with my brother to get a cut and beard, there were three barbers sitting, they saw us and they saw each other and said not to each other.
I can understand that they had appointments to attend but with a simple question like: do you have an appointment? Would you mind waiting 10 or 20 or 30 or whatever? I would have waited without a problem because I was not in any kind of hurry.
When I was getting into my car, a person came out to ask me but at that moment it was almost impossible to return me because they didn't even assist me when I came in, can you imagine if they had returned me? Most likely they were going to do anything...
