To Antioch College and the Village of Yellow Springs;
My chosen name is Bolo-J Henderson but my real name is Jeremy L. Henderson and I want to first let you know I am a child of god. On october 12th I was arrested after a great day at the street fair and a moment in time gone wrong. First to the young girl I verbally was barking at so I wanted to say sorry. No matter what, I should not have reacted to a person taking a stand to calm my pet partner and ESA.
Beyond this I want to apologize to everyone I have come across or been mean or rude to during my tenure and residence there. I also want to reiterate and I made up with the person who claimed I said I would shoot up a school. I did not say this in that way and am sorry my meditation walks, very loud talks with god, visits to churches and other places alarmed the city and Antioch college. For example when it says you all are kids. I only mean that you all are kids in the way that we all come from a mother and father and whether you are a kid at the senior center, kid at antioch college, or kid trying to be as normal as possible in a post covid world.
Due to these actions and on the advice from those within my circle I am electing to go into treatment for the loss of my pet partner (dog) and that of my anger issues. I am headed to a recovery place so that I can heal, and process these events and that of others within my life.
Thank you for sharing the beauty, pain and loss in these situations andI am sorry for all these losses. Currently I am suspended from Antioch and plan to use my health insurance to cover the cost of treatment associated with it.
This said I would like to ask for a few things to happen in this process of reconciliation.
I would like to donate my XBOX, TV and Table to the kids of Antioch to enjoy as a parting of ways and an overall apology to those I have harmed. The rest of my belongings please keep until I can send someone for them which should only take a week or so. My ID badge which Roger requested and I did not return has been stolen or misplaced by me and I wanted to make sure it was not being used improperly. I accept my full suspension and only wish to maybe return to live close to yellow springs once the time is right and become a student when it is up. Allow me to currently put an incomplete in my classes and finish them all besides farming as independent study away/online during after ND block as I will be Please allow me forgiveness and grace during this time.
Best wishes and may you all walk with angels during this time like my pet partner Bella is.
Bolo-J Henderson
P.S. When in Green County Jail for the 2 recorded weeks I wrote this poem for you guys and gals out there as another gift to my community. Hope you all like it as I was able to craft one for IBBY as well and got him his.
ODE to Yellow Springs and Antioch: You are a city of angels that allowed me to express my demons with no labels attached . I came to you all because it was a calling, and I worked hard but through a thick skull you always picked me up when I had fallen. This is a story like the old golden fables and tales but at your tables like MAZU you allowed me to eat for free at community dinners and with this nourishment I dusted myself off and the community prevailed. Please I beg for your forgiveness, the forgiveness of you all and my neighbors as I continue to try and forgive myself as I seek treatment that's now on my plate. It was and has been a pleasure to eat all of your homes from the clans of Chappels, Kims and Sharons whose music children and laughter softened my hearts and time seemed to stand still and the presence of cooler minds always were like the taxis old where the people would wave and hail. I wish you nothing but unity, forgiveness and life as you all welcomed in a stranger and even after repeated incidents were kind in the faces of my self induced...
Read moreWe came here recently for a three year old's birthday party. We weren't quite sure where to enter at first because this community center is shared with the police station....I thought this was kinda bizarre because it's something I've never encountered before. lol. But somehow after a little wandering, we found our group on the second floor in a decent sized room. There was space for three extra long tables for seating, one long table of food, a craft table, dessert table, a pin-the-nose-on-the-donkey style game and gift table. Our host welcomed us to stay during her two hour time slot. An everyone helped to stay and clean up, so we were all cleared out by 30 minutes after the party was over. I will note that this room not only had a large storage closet, but also a full kitchen that was off to the side and could be closed off.
Through our entire visit, I don't think I saw anyone from the venue at all. Infact, this place was a no-man's land aside from us.
I did appreciate that there was a small lounge area out on the second floor that was the perfect place to slip away when it came time to nurse my baby. Again, no one else was around to be...
Read moreIn my younger years, this was the high school, and then when the new high school was built, it became the junior high school. Now, it has multiple functions from housing the police station, teen center, and multiple municipal department meetings. Today, it hosted the Asian and Pacific Islander Cultural Festival. There is history behind this building, and it's good to see it still being utilized for many functions...
