Great service. Kurl was the technician who installed the alarm system on my vehicle. The installation went very well and I'm well pleased with the alarm system. It does what it's supposed to do. As the valet found out tonight. I had to work tonight at a place that only had valet parking. I showed the valet what to do in order to unlock and start the car. Unfortunately he didn't listen and of course he didn't show his supervisor. (Note: I forgot to engage valet mode on my remote so this could have been avoided). As a result when they attempted to retrieve my car they set off the alarm multiple times. They tried to start the car and the system would not let it start. The car became a brick. The alarm system even stopped taking commands from the remote and phone app. This was happening at night at a time after normal business hours and I was in a difficult position. I needed to get home and I had a long drive for work the next day. I began to contact Kurl and he responded right away. He explained to me that if the alarm is triggered multiple times (in this case it was at least 10 times) the system will think a theft is in progress and it will lock itself from all commands. To remedy this issue he recommended that the remote will need to be reset and the car must rest from stimulation for a period of time so that the system can reset itself. He then proceeded to guide me over the phone with that process. On a side note due to my situation Kurl was going to come to where I was to service the car if that didn't work but he was confident that this would fix the problem if the valet hasn't done anything tremendously drastic. He wanted to hear the car start for assurance so he stayed on the phone with me after we dealt with the remote to allow for the estimated time for the system to reset itself to pass. He then told me to try to disarm the alarm, unlock and start the car. It disarmed. Car started. Problem solved. It sounds good, but only at really high levels, and I don't care to drive around like that. After reading up on it, thought the best and easiest fix would be to replace the speakers and see how things went, and found Alan at Cartronics, with rave reviews. We discussed the situation, he took a look and a listen, and advised me against what I'd come in for, saying that it would be really expensive and yield unintended consequences that I wouldn't be happy about. We agreed that if only I could HEAR the system, I'd be happy since it's actually not too shabby. I asked about dampening mats, and he lit up, because he was about to suggest the same thing. Adding acoustic dampening panels to just my 2 front doors, to start, took a half a day, was a fraction of the cost, and has yielded great sound results. I might go back to do the back doors, but only because I want it to "go to 11!" I am thrilled with the solution Alan suggested and the way my sound system sounds now. ...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI went today to get a double din installed in my 2003 cobra. I must say they did make it happen the same day I called which is a huge plus. But when I got home I noticed the bezel was cracked, which they had removed to put in the double din. Iām sure the employee noticed when it happened and would have been better to be straight up about it than to dismiss it and think I wonāt notice it. Besides the $200 I was charged in labor now Iām out another $150 for a new bezel.
Reply to cartronics I was not in the car when the installation was performed, in fact I was having a conversation with a gentleman that was there waiting as well. Technician NEVER said anything about the bezel being cracked. Why would I write a review if it was cracked already?
