Winn-Dixie — Local services in Miami

Although prices go up and down, I'm usually able to encounter random deals on many things here. It just depends what you want and when.

▪︎Meat area: good selection, pretty expensive to me, though they have an area of meats at really good deals even cheaper than other stores.

▪︎Vegetable area: good selection, usually neat and clean. And, prices are either comparable to other grocery stores nearby.

▪︎Alcoholic Beverage area has lots of options and good deals from time to time.

▪︎Hot food area is amazing! They have really really good Cuban food, and give big portions. Very well priced in my opinion.

▪︎Bakery: Great place to get a last-minute Birthday Cake. They don't put names, nor personalize cakes but they did give me a Happy Birthday thing to stick on the cake.

▪︎ Asian section: They had Sesame Oil, Seaweed for Sushi, Vietnamese Chili Sauce, Soy Sauce, Korean BBQ marinades, Oyster Sauce, Pad Thai Sauce, Japanese Curry, Hoisin Sauce, Fish Sauce, Sesame Seeds, Rice Noodles, Vermicelli Noodles/Pad Thai Noodles, etc.

▪︎ Latin American Products of all sorts from almost every Latin American country.

▪︎Dog area: Good food selection for all dog ages and puppy food too... usually pretty expensive but great convenience.

▪︎Do not come here between 4pm-6pm on weekdays (unless you walk here)... the traffic on 11th street is horrible and so...

Started out picking up some things I need, couldn't find coffee filters, staff was helpful. Found everything else and started browsing hair bands and kneeled down since they were on a low shelf. Security walked up to me and said she saw me pick up items, (which were still in my hand) and said she thinks I put it in my bag. Which I kindly opened wide open to show her that is not the case. She walked away, I selected two items and started walking to check out when a manager and another staff member walked up to us (me and a friend) and said we don't need your business here. What??? 'please leave your things and go" at that moment the security lady walked up and said you misunderstood me, she opened her bag to show me she has nothing in it. They apologized for being rude and for thinking I opened my bag to steal. After that since we had chosen some sushi we decided to sit down by the deli section, and enjoy a quick lunch. Oh when we were waiting in the self check out section, since there's only two registers that accept cash, the staff that overlooks the self check out registers politely rang up our items at her register. So 3 stars because some staff were courteous and helpful and some rude and with no proof accused me...

Winn Dixie is super expensive these days, not everyone can afford to shop there , seems like to me that only rich people can go there and buy stuffs. But beside that it's very clean and organized. Update, last week Jan 2023 I went there on my way to work, since it's by the state attorney office, also the prison, you do have bunch of correction officers going there to grab lunch, they only have one cashier available and couple self-checkout lines with a lot of people waiting on line , the manager happened to pass by, when I asked him, how could that be possible with bunch of people waiting and he only have one cashier available, his response was that they needed more employees because the ones he had have quit, what shocked me is when he said they only cashiers, to me it was not the right thing to say in front of his employee who was trying to help me out, I finally told him that Winn Dixie should pay them more. So go figure why...
