Visited here with my family in Fall. Stunning views!! There were animals, my kids enjoyed the visit. It was opened to public, we did not schedule our visit. Probably better if we did. People were super friendly and nice. First time I felt comfortable to visit a temple. Will definitely come back again!!
Update: Saw some reviews that mentioned about abused animals. My family and I have been visiting here since our first visit. We saw how carefully they are taking care of all the animals on site. They do NOT abused animals. Go see for yourself. :) Please keep in mind, it is a Non-profit organization. They are trying their best. If you think the animals there live in a poor condition, maybe it's better to contribute what you can offer to help. I think the temple do a volunteer program during their operating seasons. The monks and staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating, providing insightful guidance and sharing their deep knowledge of Buddhist practices and philosophy. I attended one of the meditation sessions on Saturday; it was profoundly calming, and the temple grounds offered a perfect place for quiet reflection.
