Do not waste your time or money at this place. I’m not one to write bad reviews, but I can’t let this one go. I couldn’t get a late appt at my child’s dr’s office so I went here. I am giving one star for the quickness of getting in and the interaction with the medical assistant.
The interaction with the main provider who came in (don’t know if he was a Dr, a PA, and NP bc he just gave his first name) is why I am recommending you go elsewhere. I asked the assistant to check for strep and she also gave a flu swab. Both came back negative. The provider then said because my child has a fever this is something bacterial (how does he know that for sure?) and said he’s going to prescribe antibiotics. I then said, “Okay, but if this turns out to be viral, then antibiotics don’t help that, so I’d like to know what it is before I give medications. Viruses cause fever too.” I am a healthcare provider myself, I know about viruses/bacterial infections and the indications for and not for antibiotics. I don’t want to over medicate especially with antibiotics if I don’t need to. My kids are vaccinated and given medications appropriately, and I have had this conversation at our regular doctor’s office and have never been dismissed with that concern.
When I said that, I saw his whole face and demeanor change as I questioned that guidance. I then asked what antibiotic it was and his exact words were “That does not matter.” (I’m sorry- what? You’re going to withhold necessary information because I questioned you?) He then said if I was not willing to give my child the recommended medicine he would document in his notes that I declined the appropriate treatment for my child. That was not was I was doing at all. There was more back and forth to this conversation to which I stopped it and said I want to avoid further confrontation. He turned this into a power struggle with me instead of listening to my concerns. I felt misunderstood, scolded and dismissed. Further proof of that was when he simply walked out of the room after I said “Okay, I will get the prescription and I will give it to my child.” He did not tell me any instructions, including what antibiotic this would be, how long to take it for, or anything about following up. I had to ask the assistant to ask him which antibiotic it would be, and I had to go back in to the office after leaving and realizing I didn’t know how they would follow up after culturing the sample.
If this facility gives me a bill for anything more than what insurance paid I will refer to this review. I hope that provider we saw reads this and remembers our interaction, and hopefully will learn that he needs to do better when it comes to interacting with a careful parent. I also want him to know that I picked up the prescription and gave the doses as I said I would, so he can document that in his notes.
Follow up to this- I brought my child to our regular doctor’s office the next day and they recommended to stop the antibiotics immediately because they tested positive for a virus. Thankfully I only gave two doses of the antibiotic.
Update: I went on a Friday. They told me they would call me Tuesday with the culture results. It is now Wednesday afternoon and I have...
Read moreWent in with a co worker for an employer drug screening. Immediately the lady was upset that we arrived together, stating that patients come in one by one. Nothing on the website communicates that requirement, and if the phones worked I would have been able to receive that information before I arrived. She then went off on how the facility is understaffed and that she is there on her day off, but she doesn't mind taking the overtime. (A strange thing to say to someone who just walked in, does not give you very much confidence in the organization.) I mentioned I've been trying to get this screening done since end of April, and that when I showed up for my first appointment at 8am, the doors were still locked with no staff. When they finally arrived, I waited for 30 minutes to find out the internet was down. Apparently bringing this up is a sensitive subject as I was immediately asked to go to another location due to my attitude. Mind you, I am a service professional with over 20 years in customer service, I have never seen someone immediately try to set a poor expectation from the get go. Ironically, my coworker was able to have their screening performed in less than 5 minutes. Not sure if the employee was having a bad day and needed a power trip. At the end of the day, I feel like I was bending over backwards to go here but they clearly do not want my business. Do not go here unless you want to feel...
Read moreTook my son there for an ear infection. The nurse was excellent and calming and called around for a prescription till we found someone open late. Turned out she accidentally told me it was a different CVS than it was so we didn't get it until the next day which was not fun for him. Simple mistake. The bigger pain though is billing. You get a paper bill in the mail with option to send check in or create an account online. But can't create an account without calling to have someone set it up. They never pick up. Never call back after leaving multiple voicemails. Finally just sent in a check. They cashed it and still we are getting voicemails from them that we owe a bill. Be careful and save all documentation. My employer's health services people can't reach them either. The Doctor's name in the BCBS claim has someone's name who doesn't match who I saw and the name when you google it for urgent health in middleton shows that doctor from South Africa with 'boat finance' in the headline for his contact info. Seems sketchy and probably weird google info but the whole billing practice is off which raises lots of questions. Again the nurse that night was great but be prepared for issues...
